Review: L'oreal Voluminous Mascara

So after years of wearing the same mascara by Almay I finally branched out and explored the whole fabulous mascara world I had been missing out on. Well technically I haven't really explored that far I went from one holy grail mascara to another... what can I say? I broke down after hearing guru's always talk about this great L'oreal Mascara that did wonders on every type of lashes... I knew I had to try it. From the first day I fell in love and this is why...

You can grab this mascara at any drugstore around for under $8. There are many colors available to choose from I always snatch up the carbon black color for the blackest lashes ever. I do find that the first couple of days I use a new tube that the formula is a little watery for me I like when mascaras get a little bit thicker but after a week it is just perfect! I love the brush it is the right size for my eye and does not have rubber bristles (which I hate). This also comes in a waterproof formula as well which I do think is rather water resistant. Another plus is that you can coat your lashes a million times and I never get clumpy eye lashes. I should explain the type of lashes I have my mom blessed me with full long lashes. I often get asked if I am wearing falsies all the time. The one thing I don't like is that I notice if I wear this mascara on my bottom lashes I end up having some flakes and black under my eyes by the end of the day, but if I avoid my bottom lashes then we are all good =)

Hopefully my quick little review gave you a little insight into the mascara world.
enjoy =)

Halloween Through The Years

This is long over due. I just jumped back into the bloggin' mood. I decided to just throw up some pictures from past Halloween costumes. Hopefully you enjoy even though Im a whole month late!!!

From this year I was Wonder Woman

Couple years ago, I was a Beer Maiden

Another Picture of Wonder Woman

Yuck, I was a Jello Shot!

I was in the Navy!!

Just a few ideas. I made them all except the Beer Maiden. I always find making costumes is the best because even though some one might be the same thing as you, at least you won't be wearing the same thing! =)

Well Deserved Blog Post

Hey ladies!! Well after a month of absence I am back. I really have no excuses as to why I haven't been blogging but we all have our moments of laziness. But I would like to use these excuses as to why I haven't blogged

  • my computer sucks & so does the warranty help line

  • new job

  • lack of makeup related purchases

  • busy, working 40 hours

  • FOOTBALL started

  • trying to quit drinking soda has made me a complete b!itch =)

Yeah, those are my "half-assed" excuses for why I haven't blogged. But luckily my last post was only a little over a month ago so you know what! That isn't half bad, totally could of been way worse if I say so myself. So hopefully I will get my butt in gear and start reviewing things and writing post about nothing (kinda, like this one). Hey, maybe I will even get my computer fixed and I can actually type something without it shutting off randomly and losing everything. Maybe...

Chat with you soon

FOTD: Toned Down Natural

Hello Ladies! I wanted to just put up a little picture/blog post of my "no makeup" look. Obviously I have makeup on and I always like to wear eyeliner but this is pretty minimal on colors and contouring for me. There are just days when you want to wear makeup but you don't feel like doing an elaborate mix of colors and winged liner. This is a pretty simple look that I wear a lot to work or just out for a casual lunch. How I achieve it:
Face:
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer
MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW20
MAC MSF Natural in Medium
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer in Light
Wet N Wild Blush in Earthly Sheer
NYC Bronzer in Sunny
MAC Fix+

Eyes:
Taupe Brown from the Coastal Scents Mental Mania Palette on eyelid
Matte White from Estee Lauder Quad from Gift with Purchase highlight
Maybelline Line Stiletto Black Liquid Liner (top lash line)
Covergirl Pencil Liner in Black dipped into
ELF Cream Liner in Black applied to tight and water line
Lo'Real Voluminious Mascara in Carbon Black with one coat of waterproof over top

Eye Brows:
Maybelline brow powder in Dark Brown

Lips:
EOS Summer fruit lip balm

Hopefully this gives you ladies an idea for something to do that is a little "toned" down for those lazy days that doesn't involve a lot of blending or color mixing. Have a great day ladies!! Enjoy =)

Review: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Hello Ladies!! I am back with another review this time of MAC's MSF Natural. I have had this product in my makeup stash for I don't even know how long probably a good 1.5 years. The first time I purchased it was in a duo with a highliter shade that I totally hated. I have a blog post on that, but I am not going to link it because well it is untrue now. I actually now love the highliter but I did find it to shimmery when I first purchased the product. Anyways, I am now on my fourth compact of MSF Natural. Here is the review:

How much?
$27.00 online @ maccosmetics.com or in-store

What color am I?
I wear Medium in the Winter and Medium Plus in the Summer. I am NW20 in MAC's color selection or in Revlon Colorstay I wear 200 Nude.

What it claims to do?
"A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly backed to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up" From MAC's website.

How I use it?
I like to wear this with just concealer to work or to set my foundation for a perfect matte finish and a flawless finish at all times. I also love to throw this into my purse to touch up after work before I go out to eat or hang with friends. I apply it with a powder brush from ELF cosmetics.

Why I love it?
I love this product because it honestly is the best setting powder or just a powder to throw on to give you an all over flawless perfect skin at any time. I love that it feels light on the skin and doesn't make my face look "cakey" no matter how much I put on.

Would I recommend this product?
Of course! Honestly, this is one of the best "powders" I have tried ever.

Hopefully you ladies love this product as much as I do! Another side note about MAC I recently ordered a new MSF and it came in the mail broken =( seriously I was heartbroken I called the 800 number and graciously without questions asked the lady sent me a brand new one!!!! They are awesome, and with having the nearest MAC over 3 hours away online is the only way for me to order anything from MAC.

TAG: Would you rather...?

Hey ladies! I have been seeing this tag going around the youtube beauty world and figured why not do it for myself! I have been really busy lately and haven’t had much time to make up any blog posts, don’t you hate when that happens. I haven’t even read any new ones in like 2 weeks. BAD, BAD blogger. Hopefully you ladies enjoy

random iPod picture from at work =)

Would you rather lose all of your mascara, eyeliner, lipsticks, lip glosses or all of your palettes and eye shadows?

I think I honestly could do without eye shadows and palettes. I need need need mascara and eyeliner everyday I honestly don’t go a day without it unless I know I am not leaving my house… shame.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

This is tough…Never being able to cut it again would get really gross and my hair would be like nast-i-ly long and damaged. I would probably go with chop off all my hair because that way atleast it will grow back and I can try out some new styles while it does grow back that normally I wouldn’t do.

Would you rather a coral or pink cheek?

Until recently I would of totally picked coral cheek, I recently tried a super hot pink blush by elf in pink passion and I am totally in love with it until now I have been wearing coral coral and more coral everything. I even steered clear from pink lips.

Would you rather spend 1000 dollars on clothes or makeup?

This is easy for me I am not a fashionista by any means I like what I like and I wear it whenever I want even if it is out of style. Simple as that my money would be towards makeup all the way

Would you rather wear lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

To me this question is almost the same thing really because lipstick and eyeliner now come in every color out there so honestly wouldn’t make a difference but I guess if I have to pick one I would say eyeliner as lipstick.

Would you rather only shop at Sephora or MAC?

If you follow my blog you know that I have little MAC or Sephora items. I like to stick with drugstore makeup and throw in a few high end items. I do however love MAC products but I think I would rather have the brand selection that Sephora has to offer. So I pick Sephora. Maybe one day they will sell MAC ad Sephora how cool would that be =)

Would you rather wear only one lip color or only one eye shadow for the rest of your life?

Totally only one lip color I am honestly not that great at remembering to even wear lip products. I mean I carry them in my purse and I have them with all my makeup in the bathroom but I always forget to put them on. So I would pick one lip color and it would probably have to be like a light coralish nude.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

So I am always freezing like literally always freezing. My wardrobe honestly doesn’t change that much during the seasons because at work I wear long sleeves because it is either freezing outside or the AC is on. So I wear winter clothes year around at work so why not outside too? I don’t get out much anyways, stupid work.

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails year round?

I would rather wear pastel nails but since that isn’t an option I will go with dark nails. I have long natural nails and sometimes when I wear bright colors they look really fake and it is very annoying when people are always asking if I have fake nails.

Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or eye product?

Like I said above I really do love lipstick and lip glosses but I always forget to wear them… so obviously I would ditch my favorite lip product over my favorite eye product.

Would you rather only wear your hair in a pony tail or messy bun?

This is a tough one for me I rarely wear my hair up in a pony tail bun or anything. I love wearing my hair down all the time. BUT since I have to choose one I guess I would go with pony tail because you can wear a pony tail a lot of different ways and a messy bun is just a messy bun.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows or sharpie your eyebrows everyday?

Tough, I would really hate to go without eye brows I love my eyebrows I have really dark bold brows already and it would be so weird to have nothing left. Although sharpie-ing your brows everyday would be old but atleast you would be able to make different shapes? Oh boy I guess I would sharpie mine in even though it is ungodly tacky.

Would you rather live without makeup or without nail polish?

Easy, live without nail polish.

Enjoy =)

Target Haul: ELF and Revlon

Hey ladies! I needed a little pick-me-up so I went over to the local Target to get some goodies! I stopped at the ELF section and picked up some old favorites and some new products to try out! I was rather excited to see the makeup mist & set there. I have recently seen a lot of people pick it up on youtube but I haven't really heard any reviews yet. I am praying that it is amazing, secretly.

(Powder Brush,Contour Brush,Blush Brush,Revlon Nailpolish, Makeup Mist & Set, Blush, and Bronzer)

I picked up a new blush I am honestly not sure of the color because the box says Tickled Pink and the blush itself says Pink Passion; so it is one of those. I picked it because I honestly dont have a bumble gum pink blush so what better way to try it out then a $3 Studio Elf Blush. The Bronzer is in the color Golden when it is swatched it looks lighter then I thought it would turn out and it is rather shimmery but I think it is perfect for in your purse when you are on the go for a little glow. I don't love shimmer all over my face in the summer because as soon as you step into the sun you are glittering, ugh not my favorite.

I picked up 2 of my favorite brushes the Blush brush that I use to apply blush and contour with bronzer and also the powder brush that I use to apply my liquid foundation and buff it into my skin really well. This is honestly the best way to apply foundation that I have found. All things pictured were $3 each. I purchased a new brush the contour brush for your eyes and I am excited to try this out and find the best use for it. There is a similar brush to this not in the studio line but I am not sure of the name but it only costs one dollar instead of three. I am on the lookout for a new setting spray so I figured why not try this out. I have not heard much about it yet but I know a lot of people picked it up so hopefully it will turn out to be amazing, we will see.

The last thing I got was a Revlon Polish in the color Cupid. I found this baby on clearance for $2.98. My Target had a lot of their Revlon Polishes on clearance. I liked this color because I don't really wear pinks a lot and all of the pinks I do have are like a deeper pink or very glittery. This color is pretty matte and again a bubble gum pink. I am excited to try it out.

Hopefully y'all enjoyed this! Till next time Enjoy =)

July Favorites-Current Loves

Hello ladies! I am back in action with my July Favorites. Now not all of these products are new I am currently still trying to use up a lot of the stuff I have, but most of what I am trying to use us is hair care products or body lotions. I don’t know why I buy so much of it or insist on using half of it and then finding something else? My excuse “I am a girl and I can never have too much of anything”. Anyways let’s get started:

Wet N’ Wild Eye Shadows- I recently purchased these two trios of shadows @ Wal-Mart for $2.99 after hearing much rave about how great the new shadows are. Honestly, I am impressed but do wish there were more matte options these are quite shimmery shades. But the pigmentation is amazing and you cannot beat the price. Definitely going back to get more soon….

Organix Moroccan Argon Oil Conditioner- after hearing a lot recently about this product by the beauty gurus I had to go pick this baby up @ Target $6.49. When I used this product from day one my hair felt amazingly soft. The only problem I have is that the consistency of the conditioner is a bit runny for my liking so I often squirt a little bit of Aussie’s 3-Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner in with it to make it thicker. The smell is to die for…

ELF Cream Liner in Black- I rediscovered this in my collection this month. I have 2 other colors of ELF’s gel liners (olive and a purple one) These gel liners work perfectly with an eye liner pencil to make a smudge and summer proof eyeliner. I am honestly impressed with the pigmentation of these gel liners watch out MAC’s Black Track.

Maybelline Superstay Foundation- After hearing about this from TheBombShellSuite from youtube who has oily acne prone skin just like me I had to go and try out this baby. I purchased it @ Wal-Mart around $7. I love mixing it with my Revlon ColorStay foundation. I do not love this by itself doesn’t last as long as it claims (24hr) but mixed it lasts all workday and more if I touch up with powder. I would recommend this if you have oil skin and acne prone. I did not get broken out from this and I did not find myself getting any oilier than usual.

Laura Geller Blush in Blush-n-Brighten- I received this in my June birchbox and honestly at first I was like ugh the whole thing is shimmery. I didn’t love it. I am not about shimmer or glitter on my face I love it on my eyes and lips but not my face. I barely ever wear a highlight. After trying it out a few times and warming up the idea of shimmery cheeks I actually really enjoy the color and glow I get. I love the highlight it comes with to swipe over my nose and above my eye brows for a little extra glisten. I don’t know if I would regularly purchase this but because it was basically free I will enjoy it for the time being.

A few non-beauty related things I would like to mention.

My tattoo that I got earlier this month

Pandora Radio

Townhouse Original Crackers

Ipod Touch

Dairy Queen-Dilly Bars in Chocolate Mint!

Alright Ladies that is all I have for my July Favorites. Hopefully this helps you ladies out and maybe gives some ideas. Any questions leave in the comments before and let me know what some of your favorites are. Have a Great August! Enjoy =)

Summerify Your Makeup Routine

Hey Ladies! I am back with another post this time on my tips to make your makeup stay longer in the summer. I live in Wisconsin and we get gawd awful humidity in the summer. I am jealous of all you non-humid ladies out there. Here is a list of things I do to keep my makeup staying in place during the summer heat:

I always prime my face no matter what time of year it is. This step is critical in keeping your makeup in place all day. Using a primer really helps create a base for all of your makeup artistry that is yet to come.

I like to use MAC Fix+ (you can use another other type of makeup medium) after I apply primer but before I apply a powder or liquid foundation to really help my makeup blend well into my skin. I do think this step helps adhere my makeup to my face better.

I have oily skin so I always apply a powder after any liquid product I use on my face weather on my cheeks, eyes, or face. This helps the product last longer and also absorbs any oil you may have going on throughout the day.

OMG! Emilie Clark from youtube taught me this trick. Dipping your favorite eyeliner pencil into coordinating colored gel liners then applying to your water line was the best idea ever! Seriously the product applies so smoothly and stays in place all day... and the application has never been easier.

If I am wearing a lot of eyeliner especially black and I want the liner to stay in place all day and not budge an inch in that heat. I first dip my eyeliner penicl into a gel liner then apply to my water and tight line then I also use a small angled brush to apply a small amount of matte shadow over the liner. This helps the liner stay in place all day and keeps the liner from smudging into your lashes. Best thing ever... next to sliced bread =) (I had too)

Finally, the step you can never forget but I often do is to apply a makeup setting spray. As I mention below I like Kat Von D's Lock N' Load Makeup Mist. I used to use my Fix+ as a makeup setting spray but honestly that isn't really what I like it best for, blending is. I am not totally in love with KVD, so if anyone has suggestions on a setting spray let me know. I am on the look out for a new one.

Here is list of the tips and my favorite products:

  • Always prime your face- my favorite- Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer $6 @ Wal-Mart

  • Fix your makeup- my favorite- MAC Fix+ maccosmetics.com 1oz $10 3.4oz $19

  • Set with powder- my favorites MAC MSF in Medium maccosmetics.com $27 or ELF Setting powder $6 target or eyeslipsface.com

  • Apply Eyeshadow Primer- my favorite- ELF mineral eyelid primer $3 Target or eyeslipsface.com

  • Dip eyeliner pencil into gel liner- my favorite-ELF gel liners $3 Target or eyeslipsface.com

  • Set eyeliner with matte shadows- depends on the color, but MATTE shadows work best

  • Finish with setting spray- my favorite- KVD Lock N' Load Makeup Mist $24 Sephora

If you don't need to wear a liquid foundation I would recommend not wearing one. They are harder to wear all day in the summers heat. Try to reach for a medium-full coverage powder instead. My favorites are MAC Studio Fix Powder and Clinque Pressed Powder. Wearing powder foundation helps to absorb the oils your face produces and liquid will just melt off. I promise it is okay to let your face breathe once and awhile. Hopefully some of these tricks will help you ladies out in the summer humidity. Enjoy =)

Review: Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship

Hello Ladies!!! I am back in action after I survived a weekend of Rocking out @ Rockfest 2011. Being there made me think of a lot of blog posts for the future, just wait and find out! Anyways, after much raving from blogging and youtube gurus I finally broke down a tried the herbal esscenses long term relationship shampoo and conditioner. WHEW what a name! Here we go...

Where can I get this product?
I purchased mine at my local ShopKo store; although it is available at most drugstores like Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart, and most groceries stores. Atleast where I live anyways.

How much?
I purchased the shampoo and conditioner for around $3. I got the smaller bottles, they do come in two sizes small and large (not sure on the ounces though, sorry)

How did I use this product?
Sorry girls but I shampoo my hair daily, tisk tisk, I know but I DONT CARE. I like to feel clean and my hair likes to get greasy on me. I tried using the shampoo and conditioner together and mixed matched with others hanging out in my shower like Head and Shoulders or Big Sexy Hair. I like to take a whole pile of shampoo and lather it up nice on my head mostly towards my roots but I do shampoo the ends too. I love love love conditioner and I double pile that on. I usually get a pretty good layer all over my head.

What I do I think of this product?
Overall I honestly was not impressed with this shampoo and conditioner combo. Although the smell is absolutely amazing I wasn't really impressed with the conditioning abilities. I figured hey, this is for long hair so I think personally it should be amazingly moisturizing. WRONG. This obviously has more moisturizing power then lets say Suave conditioner but it isn't as amazing some others I have tried from the drugstore that I love like Head & Shoulders Smooth and Silky conditioner. I did however enjoy the shampoo a little bit more, it does lather up nicely that isn't the best for your hair but I like it so I do it. = ) I honestly wasn't that impressed with either of these that I did tell my brother to use them up for me... great guy huh?

Will I repurchase this product?
I honestly do not think that I will repurchase this again. I either missed what everyone was raving about or I am just too picky/crazy. You tell me... maybe not.

Well hopefully that was helpful! More blogs to come!
Enjoy =)

Packing Rant

Hey ladies!! So as I am gearing up for Rockfest 2011 I have come across many things trying to remember everything. I dont know about you guys but I ALWAYS make a list a few days before my trip. I like to catagorize it Clothes, Toiletries, Other. I like to stay organized and not forget anything.
Most of you are girls and probably over packers, just like me. I am going to be gone for 5 nights 4 days. Well you never know what the weather is going to be like or what outfit you might want to wear. Oh, did I mention that it is supposed to be over 90 degress and a great chance of thunderstorms? Boo... So I sit here staring at my list which has the bare minimum of clothing I need to bring and saying honestly I cannot just bring 4 pairs of shorts and here is my list of rants about packing:

  • Being a girl sucks! Do I really need to bring mulitple brushes for makeup and different colors of eyeshadow? Is anyone even going to notice or care?

  • Finding travel sized goodie is NOT that easy and trying to figure out a way to mkae your giant shampoo some how tiny is impossible. I figured out that I need to go to the craft store and buy some conveinent containers pronto

  • Why do I need to pack 10 shirts? 10 tank tops? and 5 swimsuits?

  • Do I really need to bring multiple flip-flops?

  • Why isn't my bag ever big enough?

  • Is there a point to even making a list when I pack everything on it and more?

  • Downsizing my clothing to make all my beauty goodies fit is going to have to stop sometime and hopefully soon.

Ugh, I just feel so much better. Sometimes I wish I was that girl who could wear a pair of soffee shorts and a cut up t-shirt and maybe have never touched makeup in the first place. Do you ever feel like that? Maybe I am the only one. Oh the joys of being me =) Well off to la la land of packing for a little while longer. Rockfest in 12 hours. Hopefully I am not alone on this one...

Enjoy =)

My Tattoo In Depth

Hello ladies!! I wanted to write a post all about my tattoo experience recently. Now I am sure a lot of people are wondering why would you put a tree on your back? Well the answer is that I have been watercolor painting for many years and I always loved painting Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees. So I talked with my Tattoo Artist Jeff and gave him some ideas and let him create this gorgeous creation.

I picked the placement because I have a very little body I am only five feet two inches tall and I wanted the tree to be fairly large so I was limited on where I could put the tattoo. I also wanted to make sure I placed it some where that weight gain would be minimal if I did gain any weight.
Now I honestly just let my artist Jeff run with the coloring and shading. I just asked for pink flowers and a white center. I really love how the yellow in the tree itself made it pop.

I went with a local tattoo shop. I don't want to put the name of it because it is the exact town I live in, but I did go there with a friend before and she got a tattoo. I loved the friendly environment and I totally loved how Jeff showed us how everything was sterile and he doesn't reuse anything which is very important. I think another reason why I loved this shop so much is that Jeff the tattoo artist is actually only 23 years old which is my age. I know he is young and how could he be able to do such amazing work well honestly, he is gifted and it comes natural.

I did not think that actually getting the tattoo hurt. If you own an epilator I think that is exactly what it feels like. Now I would never get a tattoo over my ribs. I have one branch that just reaches a little bit over towards my ribs and that really hurts. The only part that I really thought that hurt was after he had done the outline and started to shade it in he left the yellow
for the second to last color and that is what hurt because you were going over skin that already was irritated. Otherwise Ladies don't be scarred. My friend who got the tattoo on her foot said her tattoo really hurt but that is on little skin and over a lot of bone.

I am really please with the result of my tattoo. The key part now is that I need to take care of my tattoo otherwise I could do some serious damage. I am going to Rockfest on Thursday so in 3 days. You are not supposed to be in tanning bed for 2 weeks and limit the direct contact by sunlight for a few days. Rockfest is going to be like 95 degrees and the concerts are all outside. I have purchased plenty of sunscreen and I am ready to protect my new baby. Also, right after you get your tattoo you need to keep it covered with an ointment like Aquaphor and after it starts to scab you can apply a dye and fragrance free lotion to keep the skin soft. A lot of people say that the tattoo starts to itch and it is really hard not to itch it but I am not to that point yet. I just have scabs but if you do end up picking at these the color will come out and you will lost parts of your tattoo!

Hopefully this was helpful leave any questions below if you have any. Happy Tattooing! Enjoy =)

Empties

Hey Ladies! It feels really good to be back. I have been working really hard to empty out a lot of my products and honestly it is harder than it sounds. I know that I had thrown away a lot of containers not even thinking Oh, I can put that on my blog.... yeah oops. I guess that is what happens when you don't blog for a month, sorry ladies. Here is a look at the recent things I emptied. I did take the picture from my iPhone so the quality isn't the greatest and yes that is me in the mirror looking fabulous =) haha

What I used up

Victoria Secret Body Butter in Love Spell
Physicians Formula Bronzer
Ulta Smooth Conditioner
Olay Quench Taste of Sun Gradual Self Tanner
Bath & Body Works Lemon Vanilla Lotion
Pangea Organics Toner For Normal to Combination Skin

Victoria Secret Body Butter In Love Spell- I found this little bugger hiding in the back of one of my bathroom drawers and honestly I forgot how much I love this stuff and how soft it really makes your skin feel. I will be repurchasing this.

Physicians Formula Bronzer- Now I have had this for a long while. This was one of the mosaic bronzer that came out well probably last year. I got it on clearance at Target. I do not think I will repurchase this. I like NYC Sunny bronzer a lot better or the Blush/Bronzer combo by e.l.f.

Ulta Smooth Conditioner- I was on the hunt for a new conditioner and happened to see this on the ulta website and it was buy one get one free so why not try it out right? Well honestly this stuff sucks. First off I hate the smell. This reminds me of Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar which I cannot stand because my friends and I used to load that shit on when we were in junior high. Yuck, and the formula is really thick but my hair doesn't really feel that great after using it. I had high hopes for this for some reason. Will not repurchase.

Quench Taste of Sun Gradual Self-Tanner- This is my holy grail for gradual self tanners. I never see anyone else raving about this product but hey, I love it. As soon as I finished this body I had another one waiting. I just honestly love this it gives off a great gradual tan without ever looking orange and the smell is amazing. Will ALWAYS repurchase.

Bath & Body Works Lemon Vanilla Lotion- So I got this at a Semi-Annual sale sometime last year I think. I love love love this lotion. Honestly is the perfect summer scent with a little hint of vanilla but mostly lemon. Reminds me of lemon cake. I purchased like 4 of these at the sale and this is the first one I have used up! On to the next one I guess.

Pangea Organic Toner for Normal to Combination Skin- I got this in my June birchbox and I have been using it ever since. I haven't thought to use a toner like a spray before and I honestly like how it works. I applied this everyday after I showered and before my moisturizer. The smell is definitely natural but I love it. I don't really know if this did anything wonderful for my skin but I do love it, not sure if I am going to repurchase or not.

Alright ladies, I am back!!! Stay tuned for more.
Enjoy =)

Review: Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Hello Ladies! I am back with another review, this time on Clinque's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. I had heard nothing but rave reviews about this product that I was just dying to go out and purchase it. I was honestly so excited I picked up mine at the Clinque counter at Younkers for $24.50. I have oily skin so I chose to get the gel instead of the lotion.

This comes with a pump that gives you enough product to apply all over your face. I really loved the gel and how it felt smooth on my face. The gel does have a scent to it but to me it just smells fresh no real perfume scent at all. This does come out of the bottle with a light yellow tint but goes on your skin clear. After using this product for over 8 weeks I am less than impressed with this product. I have recently heard that they changed the formulation and a lot of people have said that it doesn't work as good any longer.

I was so hoping this was going to be the holy grail of moisturizers but I am so disappointed. I am going to finish up this product and not repurchase or recommend to others. Have any 0f you had this same experience with this product?

Enjoy =)

Review: E.l.f. Beautybook Smoky Eye Edition

Hello Ladies! I am back with a review on the ELF Beautybook Smoky eye edition. Now I already have this palette from last year which has more neutral colors and this year it is filled with greys, blues, and purples. I got it on clearance in Target a couple of weeks ago and just decided to use it tonight... hate when that happens. I paid $3.48 but originally it was $5. You can also buy these palettes online at eyeslipsface.com

Swatches are not the greatest, sorry.

I am totally in love with the middle colors which happen to be purples. The deepest shade really caught my eye it is a plum with goldish shimmer. It did not show up very well in the swatch but I totally love it. I think the grey/black colors on the bottom row are the same as last years palette except that the black is matte this time instead of having shimmer which I love! I am not really too excited to play around the blues really. I honestly think that blue eye shadow can come off as trashy, no offense to those of you that love it I honestly just don't love it.
This palette also comes with a double sponge applicator and a mini eye liner. I use the sponge tip to create the look below as long as the eye liner which is very very hard and not really that fabulous, but might work well as an eyeliner to throw into your purse for touch ups.

I used the purples and made this quick look while watching Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. I am totally in love with these shows. Hopefully you ladies enjoyed this look!

what do you guys think of this palette?

enjoy =)

How to Fake It...

Hello Ladies! After realizing how truly pale and pasty I was I decided to break out the good ole self-tanners for the summer. Here is my review on the ones I currently have/use:

Sunlab Self Tanning Ultra Drak Instant Tint- This is honestly one of the best self tanners I have tried. No matter how I apply it or how often I get a perfect summer glow, never have I once turned orange. I like to apply this 1-2 times a week. The formulation is amazing does not dry right away gives you plenty of time to spread all over each section. The color is a rich brown that when you apply looks greyish which is what keeps you from turning orange. Always look for a green or grey tint to your self tanners. Another thing I love is the smell to me it smells like cherry vanilla. I don't smell any self tanner scent ever even if I put it on in the morning before work. This tanner is pricey $48 for 8 fl oz except I recently purchased a bottle at TJ Maxx for $16.99. You can buy this online here.
Neutrogena Instant Bronze in Medium- This to me is another great tanner that is more affordable. I use this the same way as the Sunlab Self-Tanner but be careful how much you apply because it does turn a little orange. I love that is gives you an almost automatic color because if you are running low on time before an event and need quick color this allows you to see where you have applied it. This is available at most drugstores (Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Shopko) and usually runs around $6. I do wish it had less of a self tanner smell but it isn't really all that bad.

Quench Plus Touch of Sun for Medium/Dark Skin Tones- Now this is one of my favorite lotions that has a hint of self tanner. These are great for maintaining your fake tan year around. I like to use these in sync with self tanners and by themselves in winter to just give my body a hint of color. This smells amazing barely any self tanner smell and really does gradually give you a hint of color without turning orange. I use this a couple of times a week to keep my tan glowing. I usually purchase this at Shopko for around $6.
Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for Medium/Tan Skin Tones- This is one of the first lotions plus self tanners that I had tried. I honestly hate this product. As soon as you open the bottle all you can smell is self tanner. Every time I would wear it I felt like everyone around me knew that I was wearing Jergens Natural Glow. I do feel that I get most orange with this product than any other self tanners that I have previously tried. You can find this at most drugstores (Wal-Mart, Target, Shopko, Walgreens) and is around $6 as well. I would not recommend this product.

Ulta Tinted Self-Tanning Continuous Spray Light Medium- This is one of the first spray self tanners I have tried. I was not really impressed with it. I do enjoy the smells I think it smells fresh and kinda of like "manish" I was not really excited about the color I just felt orange and I have honestly only used this on my legs and every time I use it I end up wearing pants and never wanting to show off my legs. I bought this online at ulta.com but I just checked the website and it is not available. I want to say I purchased this for under $10.

What tanners do you use? Love? Hate?
Enjoy =)

TAG: How Random?

I discovered this tag on a fellow bloggers blog Jaci. She did a great job, so I decided that I should do this and fill in my lack of blogging lately! Here we go...

1. If you'd have a choice, what would you like to name yourself?
Hmm... this is a great question. I would have to pick Farrah and there is a great story behind this one. I started to introduce myself out at college parties with friends as Farrah so then weird boys could not add me on facebook, works every time =)

2. Do you have a particular colour that you reach out for more than your favorite colour?
My favorite color is green but for makeup I tend to stick to brown and tans for eyeshadow. I also wear a lot of black to work. Just looks so sleek and professional. So yes, there are colors that I reach for more often.

3. Did you have any other ambitions before you settled for your current one?
Ambitions, well I always thought I would move away to a 4 year college and become a nurse but I ended up staying in my hometown and going to a technical school and graduating as a Medical Assistant. I am now working in a job that I love so I guess everything works out for a reason, right? I will move away one day...

4. Do you interlace your shoe laces or lace them across?
I own like 1 pair of shoes with laces and I wear them to workout (when that actually happens)

5. Do you prefer to be a poor, happy kid or a rich, lonely kid?
That one is tough but you know what they always say money doesn't buy happiness. I would choose to be a poor happy kid because thinks can only get better =)

6. If you have the choice, what colour would you like to dye your hair?
I have honestly probably had every hair color in the book, red, brown, black, highlights... the only thing I have never had is straight up blonde hair. I think next I would like to get some warmer highlights on my dark brown hair.

7. If you were stuck on an island, what 3 things you'd bring with you?
Easy one.... Pepsi, Cellphone (iphone), Blanket....

8. Do you prefer tote bags, sling bags or backpacks?
I like tote bags so I can fit all of my junk in there. I am really amazed when I empty out my bag and find hidden treasures in there. I do have a lot of sling bags as well those are always great for shopping so both of your hands are free.

9. Do you have a favourite brand for jewellery/accessories?
I honestly do not wear a lot of jewelry. But I do have a lot of fashion rings that I have collected mostly from Charlotte Russe and Forever 21. They both have great cheap jewelry.

10. Do you have a habit that people found to be irritating?
Hmm... I don't think so but I am annoyed by a lot of peoples habits. biting nails is a big one ...

Alright ladies, I tag all of you
Enjoy =)

How I Blog

Hello Ladies! I am back once again this time with a random blog that doesn't even mean or amount to anything. I was just watching the Semi-Final basketball game when my little (should I say big) kitty came and decided to take a cute little cat nap right behind me on the couch thought I would snag a picture of her and me. Notice her cute little flower color I got for her at fleet farm. Too Cute.

Just a regular picture of me and how I blog wearing pajamas and no makeup. Although today my hair is in a braid which normally I always wear my hair down so it was a big change.

Have a great day ladies! Enjoy =)

TAG: Summer Besties

Hello Ladies, I have seen this tag on youtube and here in the blogging world a few times. So I figured hey, what the heck, right?! Well here we go....

1. Lip Product- I love Vaseline (always a great moisturizing lip product, well moisturizing product for any part of your body really). I really enjoy wearing lipgloss but the wind always ruins that when your hair sticks too it. I prefer to wear lip stick on most summer days. Favorite right now probably Pouty Petal by ELF Mineral Line.

2. Blush- In the summer I skin to bronzer on my cheeks with a shimmery gold highlight (usually a gold eyeshadow). I love NYC Bronzer in Sunny (cheap and amazing)

3. Nail Polish- Sinful Colors Mint Apple. my absolute favorite summer color of all time it is a light minty green/teal. Revlon Peach Petal another amazing peach color and Sally Hansens Liliac

4. Liquid Face Product- Revlon ColorStay Foundation is a great foundation that stays in place. I would also recommend a primer and makeup setting spray. Covergirl Simply Ageless Serum Primer and KVD Makeup Setting Spray

5. Powder Face Product- My top favorite powders are MAC MSN in Medium Natural and MAC Studio Pressed Powder in NC20. AMAZING

6. Hair Product- Any kind of leave in conditioner will be your best friend in the summer some of my favorites include Biosilk Silk Therapy, Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender, and Image Intrakera Leave In Conditioner. Also you may want to spray your hair with a heat protectant before a day at the beach.

7. Eye Product- I am not a fan of water proof mascara I find it really drying and it always flakes off. I love to wear shimmery eye shadow on my eyes especially gold, tan, and browns. I do through an occasional color liner.

8. Self-Tanner- I recently purchased Sunlabs dark self tanner and so far I am loving it! I usually use a lotion + self tanner most days and my favorite is by Oil of Olay Touch of Sun Medium to Dark Skin tones. I do not find myself getting orange with each of these. Another one of my tricks is to use a regular self tanner and your favorite scented lotion together to make your own lotion + self tanner to get a gradual glow without spending extra money!

9. Fashion Accessory- Big glittery fashion rings and fake toe nails!! I know call me weird but I am always applying fake toe nails in the summer my favorite are by Kiss ($6 at Wal-Mart) the recommend that you only keep them on for like 1 week or something but I wear them until they fall off =) Probably not the best idea but its okay. I have a million flashy rings that I love to wear in the summer they catch the sun light and attract everyones eye.

10. Clothing Piece- I love love love strappy sandals in every color. My favorite flip flops came from Claire's and were $10 they have black straps and tons of studs everywhere. I love these!!!

Alright Ladies, what are your summer BESTIES?

Enjoy =)

Daily Dimes

Hello Ladies!!!! I am back with another daily dimes post. I have had a lot going on this week but I have managed to add a few posts here and there. Well I have an exciting weekend coming up my brother is graduating college (yay!) and it is my birthday (yay!), both are on Saturday I am ready to celebrate both. Whoop Whoop, can you say drinks?! Anyways I am going to bring my camera and hopefully I will get some great shots I am already planning my outfit. I am kicking myself in the ass though right now because I was at Target today and they had these cute black heels that would look great with my outfit and get this they were on clearance for 14.95, yeah and they are fucking gorgeous!!!! So before work tomorrow I am going to rush over there and grab those heels if they still have them in my size. I will post a picture if I grab them sometime soon.

Throwback picture from 2009

Anyways I am planning on wearing my black high waisted skirt and some sorta of top that I am not quite sure of yet but I know I will figure it out but then... which is like 24 hours away BUT still. So look for some posts from graduation and my birthday. I might not look so hot by the end of the night but I will try my best!!!

So I recently raved about the Got2B flat iron balm, well I am still loving it. I forgot to add in there that my hair has never stayed so damn straight all day. I am not kidding ladies, I have naturally wavy hair and when it starts to get humid out there is ALMOST no point in straightening my hair because it ends up look like a frizzy mess. Our weather here in Wisconsin has been humid and rainy and since I have been spraying this on I have not had my hair ever stay this straight. I seriously suggest you try that product out!

What have I been lovin?
  • Got2B Flat Iron Balm
  • UV Blue Raspberry (throwback to the high school days)
  • Gel Liner from ELF Cosmetics
  • Done with Finals
  • NARS Orgasm Illuminator as a cheek highlight and lip tint
  • Gain Laundry Soap
Well that is probably all that I have for you ladies! Oh wait, I just wanted to say how pissed I was at NYX Cosmetics, they posted this thing on Facebook about their anniversary sale and then said they were going to offer a promo code for free shipping and half off. Well I am still waiting for that code. I think they only sent it out to people who attempted to order stuff well you know what! I am pissed because I couldn't even get the damn page to load. I am boycotting them for awhile. What a shame! You ladies have that problem too?

Enjoy =)
