Review: They're Real Mascara- Benefit

I am back with another review. I got Benefit's They're real mascara as part of Sephora's yearly birthday gift with the Watt's Up Cream Highlighter as well. When I first used the mascara I thought the formula was very wet and I am not a huge fan of wet mascaras. I also am not a fan of the rubber bristled wand. The wand has rubber bristles just like Covergirl's LashBlash but the end of the wand is rounded and has spikes around the end.  I felt like I would layer and layer the mascara but all I ended up with was long stringy looking lashes with no volume or thickness. So I figured that I would let the mascara sit for a while because sometimes with age the formula thickens up.

After I left the mascara mature for a month I found the formula did thicken up and actually started to allow some volume to the lashes. The picture shows my eye lashes after 1 heavy coat. I did not curl my eye lashes or layer with another mascara. Honestly, I am not in awe of this mascara at all which is a real bummer because the hype was so good all over the blogging world and you tube. I do not think I will repurchase this mascara but I am going to continue to use up my sample size and try to layer with other mascaras. I feel like for $23 dollars I can buy 3 of my favorite drugstore mascaras Lo'real Voluminous Carbon Black.

What do you think of this mascara?

Enjoy
