NOTD: Summer Pink

Hey loves! Another nail-of-the-day! Are you sick of these yet? I have been on such a roll painting my nails lately which I can't complain I kind of like. This time I even picked a summer color! Once again don't mind that I didn't clean up the edges because I am not going anywhere tonight so the excess polish will come off when I wash my hands next.

Sinful Colors Collection in Feeling Great
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I used two coats of Feeling Great and a heavy coat of Seche Vite. I don't know about you guys but I used to love Sinful Colors polishes. I used to get new colors all the time because the polishes are around $2. How can you beat that? Bringing out this color has totally made me fall back in love with this brand. I am going to dig deeper into my stash! What is your favorite pink nail polish?

Review: Creme Facial Hair Remover

Hey loves! Nobody wants to admit, especially us ladies that we totally have a subtle mustaches at times. If you are like me and you have dark hair you might normally have darker facial hair. I used to get waxed at the salon but started using a creme product at home to save money.  Keeping your mustache in check during the summer months is key-all that sunshine will draw attention to any extra peach fuzz. Here is how to get rid of any unwanted facial hair:

Sally Hansen Creme Hair Remover

This product is available at readily available at most drugstores for only $5.00-which is such a steal. I apply a small amount usually like a quarter size amount across my upper lip. I find that I only need to repurchase this every 8-12 months and I apply this weekly for 8-10 minutes on clean skin. I try to avoid using lotion or applying makeup after using this product to avoid any extra irritation. If you do have sensitive skin I would apply for the half of the time and build up to longer. I have had a little redness after washing off for only a few minutes. This does come with an oil that you can apply after washing off but I don't like the oil and felt like it clogged my pores so I ditch that. I do notice that this creme product does have a heavy chemical scent but after washed off I do not notice the scent.  I would suggest this to anyone who is looking for a good at home creme hair remover for the face. I have also used this for between my eye brows to get rid of any hair as well.

Pros:
-inexpensive
-easy to find
-works great
-not harsh
-can be done at home

Cons:
-harsh chemically scent

I am so excited that I have finally shared this drugstore gem with you guys! I have used this for several years and I will continue to use weekly. Are there any other creme hair remover products that you have used before?

Bath & Body Works Haul

Hey loves! I know I know another Bath & Body Works haul. This time I was on the hunt for Wallflowers and a gift for my friends birthday. I did have a few coupons and the wallflowers were on-sale already. Not pictured is a Endless Summer Body Spray and Coconut Vanilla Wallflowers (which were part of the gift).

Caribbean Escape Wallflower & Mini Candles
Island Margarita Wallflower

Peach Bellini Wallflower
Coconut Lime Verbena Wallflower

Watermelon Lemonade Wallflower
White Citrus Wallflower

If you want your house to always smell amazing you need to get yourself some Wallflowers. I think they last a fairly long time-usually 1-2 months.  I have these placed all around and you walk into a fantastic smelling world.  They are making the outlets with nightlights now which is perfect for in dark places.
Keep your eyes open because the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual sale is coming in early June!!! Watch out for coupons because you are allowed to use coupons with sale prices. I like to bring in my 20% off entire purchase coupons when they have sales going on.  I would suggest to pick up some candles, Endless Summer body spray, and wallflowers. Happy shopping!

NOTD: Ravishing Red

Hey loves! I have been obsessed with changing my nail polish color lately. I saw this polish at Wal-Mart and this reminded me of my favorite red shellac I get done at the salon. I had to pick it up and everyone thought I had gotten my nails done--boy were they wrong just some drugstore polish and a shiny top coat! Take a look

NOTD: Taupe

Hey loves! I know summer is all about bright colors and funky patterns I still love a simple neutral nail. If you know me then you know my favorite color to wear is black and I would wear it everyday if I could. I am not a huge color person but eventually I will get there.

Covergirl Outlast Polish in 215 Smokey Taupe
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I actually really enjoy the formula of these new Covergirl polishes. I feel like I only need to do two coats and my nails are covered. I think the polish with the top coat usually lasts a good weeks time. Have you tried any of the Covergirl polishes?

Silky Smooth Legs for Summer

Hey loves! With summer fast approaching I figured I would share some of my go to products for soft smooth legs. I know shaving is not a favorite of very many ladies or men out there but you just have to do it, right?

First if I know there are  upcoming special plans in a few days I make sure to moisturize my legs extra leading up to the event. I also like to give my legs a break from shaving for a few days. I find I have better results if my stubble is a little longer. Keep reading to find out my favorite moisturizers.

If you have extra thick leg hair-like myself- I like to use Nair for 5-8 minutes before I shower and shave just to help soften the hair and follicles.

Now I like to shave my legs in the shower and because I make this a longer process I find this is a great time for a deep repair mask in my hair. I like to use my loofa and body wash to clean the skin before shaving. My favorite body wash is the Caress Exfoliating Body Wash.

Next I rinse off the soap and usually apply a shave gel or conditioner I am trying to use up. My favorites are EOS Shave Balm or Skintimate Shaving Cream.

Now we are ready to shave. Remember to use slow and soft motions all the way up the leg. I like to do my lower leg, knee, and then my thigh but order doesn't matter. My favorite current razor is the Schick Quattro for Men. This is the best razor I have ever used.

After I am done shaving I like to use a body exfoliator to help get rid of the dead skin cells that can make your legs feel less smooth to the touch. I like to use my St. Ive Apricot Scrub. Yes, the one that I use on my face. I find this is the best exfoliator around-inexpensive too.

I rinse out my conditioner and dry myself off. Within 5 minutes if getting out the shower I apply a heavy coat of moisturizer. I usually don't go for heavy scented body lotions like the ones from Bath & Body Works because I don't think contain enough moisturizing properties. My newest favorite is the Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream, Nivea Extended Moisture Daily Lotion, and if I want something with a little more scent I will apply this lotion over top of these moisturizers- Boutique White Nectarine & Pear Softening Hand & Nail Cream.

Finally if I am showing a lot of leg for an event or need to add a little coverage or my legs I love the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Lotion. I love how things hides the appearance of bruising or veins on my legs. The best part is that this leg makeup is waterproof so you can sit on all the white chairs you want without being worried about leaving stains.

Steps for the perfect shave:
1. Pre-moisturize
2. Nair if needed
3. Wash legs
4. Apply shaving cream or conditioner
5. Shave
6. Exfoliate
7. Moisturize
8. Conceal

Hopefully this helps you achieve those amazing summer legs that are plastered in every magazine.  I do skip a few of these steps on the regular but if I have a wedding or day at the beach I will take the extra time for my leg routine.  Do you have a favorite shaving product?

Happy Shaving

Bath & Body Works Haul

Hey loves!! I am such a sucker for good coupon codes. I need to unsubscribe to many sites because I am always suckered in by 20% off your entire purchase or $10 off a $30 purchase. This is exactly how Bath & Body got me this time. Who doesn't want 2 for $22 candles with 20% an entire purchase. If you know anything about myself or my apartment you know I am obsessed with their candles and my dad describes my place as smelling too "girly and overpowering". I think it smells amazing personally. Here is what I purchased at my most recent Bath & Body Works adventure.

2 new Wall Flower Outlets
Endless Weekend Eau De Parfum Spray- Sipping lemonade. Dipping feet at the water’s edge. Lying in sunwarmed grass. Whatever summer holds, Endless Weekend lets you linger in an everlasting summer day. Fresh mandarin & raspberry lychee sorbet mingle with blue coconut water & vanilla sandalwood to create a scent redolent with the golden distances of summer.
Watermelon Lemonade- Refresh your thirst for spring with this pleasing mixture of watermelon ice, sparkling water, and freshly squeezed Meyer lemons.
Lemon Verbena-  The luscious lemon scent of the plant that grows on country roads in Provence inspired a sunny blend of verbena blossoms and lily of the valleys.

Tiki Beach- A scent as warm as sun rays- a luxurious blend of toasted coconut, vanilla musk, and resort glamour.
Caribbean Escape- Dive into this blend of tropical melon and tart raspberry nectar mellowed by creamy coconut milk.
Peach Bellini- A shimmering blend of white peach, sweet orange peel and yellow mandarin with a pop of blackcurrant that sparkles as bring as the sun.
Twilight Woods-  A hypnotic blend of apricot nectar, mimosa petals and Tuscan cypress inspired by the enticing warmth of woods at twilight.

I have only once not liked the scent of a B&BW candle which was an espresso coffee scent that smelled like that Smuckers Hersey Chapstick. That awful fake chocolate scent that I personally can't stand.  I placed this order online and I have purchase a few of these candles before. I love deep woodsy scents like Twilight Woods but I do switch to more fruity scents when the weather warms up. I would burn caramel, vanilla musk, and deep scents year around if it was acceptable. This was my first time purchasing the Endless Weekend Spray and after a quick sniff test I really love the scent- just screams lemons and sunshine. What are your favorite B&BW scents?

Favorite High End Products

Hey Loves! After I wrapped up my top beauty and makeup products under $20 dollars I figured I would share you loves my favorite high end products that are over $20 dollars. There are some makeup and beauty items that are worth the splurge. I have included beauty and makeup items together. The items are in no particular order:

  1. Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation- I have gone through 2 bottles of this foundation. If you are looking for medium coverage without thickness and a light weight feel then this is for you. I love how long wearing this foundation can be but I do not find it overly hydrating. Available at Sephora or Ultra for around $42.
  2. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum- This is another Holy Grail product that has I swear has kept my hair in amazing shape even after all the coloring, bleaching, and heat styling I do. This is a light weight serum that doesn't weigh your hair down but keeps your hair feeling smooth and silky all day. You can get this at Salons or Ulta for around $22 and up depending on the size.
  3. Sephora Instant Moisturizer- I first heard about this from Emilie Clarke on YouTube. I have gone through several jars. This is a light weight moisturizer that soaks in quickly without being greasy. I am always on the hunt for a good facial lotion that doesn't have all those acne products in them. There is also a formula with SPF. Available only at Sephora for $22.
  4. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural - Another Holy Grail setting powder. This is actually has the coverage of a powder foundation and leaves your skin looking soft and flawless. I love to use this to make my foundation extra long wearing. Available only at MAC Stores or online for $32. I wear shade Medium.
  5. Kenra Platinum Blow Dry Spray- Oh My! This is a newer product in my hair routine- I have been using this for probably 4 months. I usually spray this on damp hair after showering because not only is a heat protector this cuts your blow drying time in half. Seriously, if you have longer hair you know how long blow drying can take-you need this product in your life. Available at drugstores and Ulta for around $22 depending on size.
  6. Benefit Hoola Bronzer- I am always on the hunt for a good matte bronzer that does not look muddy on the skin. I love using this to contour and as an all over bronzer. I feel like this takes me forever to hit pan on because a lot goes along way. Available at Ulta or Sephora for $28.
  7. Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation- This has the fullest coverage available I think for a foundation. You can sheer out by using a beauty blender or mixing with foundation or moisturizer.  I like to wear this for special occasions where I want to look super flawless. Long wearing and great for oily skin. Available at Sephora for $34.
  8. Benefit POREfessional - If you have oily skin or large pores this is the primer for you. Ever since I started applying under my foundation my skin has never looked better or foundation that has lasted this long. Available at Sephora and Ulta for around $30. Separate review here
  9. Sigma Brushes- These are only available online or at Mall of America but some single brushes are under $20 but buying these brushes in sets is a better deal. I feel like these are amazing quality and stand up to a lot of use without fraying or falling apart. My favorite is the F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush which retails for $21. ***hint coupon codes are all over youtube for 10%-20% off orders***
  10. theBalm Cabana Boy Blush- I have only tried this shade in theBalm blushes but I am super impressed with the pigmentation and staying power. This shade is a deep coral with some shimmer-a little goes a long way. This is available at Sephora and Ulta for $21 but I actually purchased mine off Hautelook for $12-always make sure to shop around
  11. Urban Decay Naked Palettes- I own all 4 of the Naked Palettes- Naked, Naked 2, Naked 3, and Naked Basics. These palettes range from $28-$50 dollars at Ulta or Sephora. They are a great deal for the number of shadows and quality. Great pigmentation.
Hopefully after you had reviewed all of my favorite products from inexpensive to expensive you will be able to find a few new favorites for your own collection! I love sharing with all of you. What are some of your favorite high end products?

NOTD: Light Pink

Hey loves!!! As the weather starts to finally get warm in Wisconsin I am starting to pull out my spring and summer colors. I love to wear deep reds and plums but I am branching out with this light pink nail.  I did not clean up the edges and picture was in natural light unfiltered.

-Essie's Fiji
-Seche Vite Top Coat

This is my first time using Essie and Seche Vite together I am hoping this works out well. I don't love this top coat with OPI polishes. I find the polish chips rather easily. The only negative I have about this formula from Essie is that I had to apply literally 4 liberal coats to cover my nails before applying a top coat. This is definitely not a color you want to try to apply quickly-takes a good hour to get the thickness you desire. What are your favorite spring nail polishes?!

Top 20 Beauty Products Under $20 Dollars

Hey loves! This is the next post to my Top 20 Makeup Products Under $20 Dollars I didn't include any products that were for hair or body care that is where this post comes in!  I was going to combine the two but I just love so many things that I wanted to share them with you guys in two separate posts. There are hidden gems out there for a great price! Just like the last post these are in particular order:

  1. Jergens BB Body Skin Perfecting Cream- This is a relatively new product in the drugstores runs around $12 for a bottle. I suggest getting the medium/dark shade because there isn't really any extra pigmentation. I love the smell and richness of the lotion. I have a separate review here.
  2. Caress Exfoliating Body Wash- Since I purchased this body wash over one year ago I haven't used anything else. I love the small exfoliating beads and rich lather. I am obsessed with anything that smells rich with vanilla and wood. My favorite scent is Evenly Gorgeous. Available at drugstores for around $4.

  3. Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs - Now this comes in a spray or lotion form personally I love the lotion form better. I feel like you have better control when applying the product. I love that this covers all imperfections such as veins, bruises, or self-tanning mishaps. If I find that my self-tanned neck and foundation don't match I add a little of this to regular body lotion and apply onto my neck for a more even match. Did I mention this is waterproof-you don't have to worry about sitting on furniture or leaving brown spots behind anywhere. Available at most drugstores or Ulta for around $11.
  4. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner- This has been a Holy Grail product for several years for me. Not only does this only cost $3 at most drugstores the smell and softness of your hair is unbelievable. If you are looking for a good cheap deep conditioner this is for you. Here is a review I did on this product from 2010
  5. Million Dollar Tan- Wow! I don't think I could say enough about this self-tanner. Such amazing color overnight that lasts for a week at a time. Applies evenly and leaves such a rich brown color without looking orange. This is available online for around $20 but there are several discount codes available or on Hautelook at a discounted rate occasionally that is when I usually purchase in a kit.
  6. Batiste Dry Shampoo- All time favorite dry shampoo. I used to be that girl that never thought I could skip days between washing my hair until I found this product. I use the deep dark brown shade so I don;t end up with gray/white roots but all of the flavors are just as good. Available at drugstores or Ulta for $8 or TJ Maxx for $6.
  7. St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Blackhead & Blemish Control- There are a lot of people who think this is too harsh of a facial scrub but I love to use it before I apply self-tanner once a week. I also use this on my body because it works better than other body scrubs plus the cost is less. Available at most drugstores for around $5.
  8. Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask- If you have struggled with acne or oily skin you need this face mask in your life! I am telling you! I use this probably once a week to help dry out my skin and keep my acne under control. If you have dry skin I would skip this because this does leave your face feeling a bit dry and tight. Available at most drugstores for around $4- I get mine at Walgreen's.
  9. Schick Quattro Razor- I can't take the credit for this amazing razor. My best friend introduced me to this when I was in the market for a new razor. Boy was she ever right that this gives you the closest shave ever leaving your legs silky smooth. I use the Quattro for men available at drugstores for $11. This is better than any other razor I have tried before.
  10. Head & Shoulders Shampoo and Conditioner- I love all of the flavors these shampoo and conditioners come in. You don't have to have a dry scalp to use these at all. They just leave your hair feeling so amazing soft and smelling fresh. My favorite is the peach scent. Available at drugstores for around $5 a piece.
  11. Crest 3D White Toothpaste- By far my favorite toothpaste of life. I feel like my mouth is completely clean after using this and the freshness lasts. This toothpaste foams up nicely and leaves no film behind.  I have noticed using this has whitened my teeth overtime even though I drink coffee daily. Available at drugstores for around $4.
  12. It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product- This has transformed my hair from damaged to silky smooth in no time. I like to apply this after the shower before I blow dry. I love the weightless feel this leaves on my hair but do be careful if you get carried away your hair can become a bit greasy. Around $20 at Ulta or drugstore depending on size of bottle.
  13. L'Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum- This is right at the cut off of $20 from most drugstores. I love the way this serum made my skin feel. I would apply this at night after washing off my makeup and I would wake up with softened skin and better appearance each morning. I would recommend this to the younger crowd looking to "perfect" your skin.
  14. Twilight Woods Body Spray- Usually you can get the body sprays from Bath & Body Works on-sale for around $5. This is my favorite scent because  it is warm fall scent that isn't over powering and smells appropriate for work or day time. These sprays are not totally over powering and last usually a few hours.
  15. Oil of Olay Body Lotion- These lightweight body lotions are available at the drugstores for around $6. I like to buy these in the sets that come out around the holidays that include body wash and lotion usually. The scents are very light and fresh. The formula dries quickly and is not overly greasy. My favorite scent is Soothing Cucumber.
  16. Seche Vite Top Coat- I get mine at Sally's Beauty Supply for $7. This top coat is a miracle worker if you paint your nails at home. Allows your polish dry very quickly and keeps the polish on longer without chipping. The finish is rather shiny- I wish they had a matte top coat.
  17. Rue 21 Perfume Spray in MM XIV- I love most of the perfumes from Rue 21. First off they are cheap at $10 but the scents are long lasting. I love this scent because it is very girly and I think citrus smelling. If you haven't checked out their perfume selection I suggest you do. Rue 21 also has a great selection for guys cologne as well.
  18. Equate Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Towelettes- These are only available at Wal-Mart stores but cost between $3-$6 dollars depending on the pack size. I use these to remove my makeup before I wash my face and also to clean up any mistakes. I love the soft lavender scent these makeup remover wipes have.
  19. Skincare LdeL Cosmetics Retinol Eye Gel Jar- I have only been using this for a few months but I did stop for 1 month to see if there was a difference and there was! I like that this is a lightweight gel that feels cooling under the eyes when you apply. I got mine from TJ Maxx for $10. If you are new to the eye cream world like I was I suggest trying something cheaper first.
  20. Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repairing Hand Cream- I actually got this from my Grandma as a gift. I carried this in my purse and this eventually found a home on my desk at work. I love this because the formula isn't overly thick and soaks in quickly. I apply this between hand washings and am able to jump back on the computer in no time. Usually runs around $6 from an Avon Representative.
Hopefully you all enjoyed this post just as well as my Top 20 Makeup Products Under $20 dollars. I am always looking for those hidden gems that are inexpensive to fulfill my beauty and makeup needs. What beauty products do you love that are under $20 dollars?
