Target Haul: ELF and Revlon

Hey ladies! I needed a little pick-me-up so I went over to the local Target to get some goodies! I stopped at the ELF section and picked up some old favorites and some new products to try out! I was rather excited to see the makeup mist & set there. I have recently seen a lot of people pick it up on youtube but I haven't really heard any reviews yet. I am praying that it is amazing, secretly.

(Powder Brush,Contour Brush,Blush Brush,Revlon Nailpolish, Makeup Mist & Set, Blush, and Bronzer)

I picked up a new blush I am honestly not sure of the color because the box says Tickled Pink and the blush itself says Pink Passion; so it is one of those. I picked it because I honestly dont have a bumble gum pink blush so what better way to try it out then a $3 Studio Elf Blush. The Bronzer is in the color Golden when it is swatched it looks lighter then I thought it would turn out and it is rather shimmery but I think it is perfect for in your purse when you are on the go for a little glow. I don't love shimmer all over my face in the summer because as soon as you step into the sun you are glittering, ugh not my favorite.

I picked up 2 of my favorite brushes the Blush brush that I use to apply blush and contour with bronzer and also the powder brush that I use to apply my liquid foundation and buff it into my skin really well. This is honestly the best way to apply foundation that I have found. All things pictured were $3 each. I purchased a new brush the contour brush for your eyes and I am excited to try this out and find the best use for it. There is a similar brush to this not in the studio line but I am not sure of the name but it only costs one dollar instead of three. I am on the lookout for a new setting spray so I figured why not try this out. I have not heard much about it yet but I know a lot of people picked it up so hopefully it will turn out to be amazing, we will see.

The last thing I got was a Revlon Polish in the color Cupid. I found this baby on clearance for $2.98. My Target had a lot of their Revlon Polishes on clearance. I liked this color because I don't really wear pinks a lot and all of the pinks I do have are like a deeper pink or very glittery. This color is pretty matte and again a bubble gum pink. I am excited to try it out.

Hopefully y'all enjoyed this! Till next time Enjoy =)

July Favorites-Current Loves

Hello ladies! I am back in action with my July Favorites. Now not all of these products are new I am currently still trying to use up a lot of the stuff I have, but most of what I am trying to use us is hair care products or body lotions. I don’t know why I buy so much of it or insist on using half of it and then finding something else? My excuse “I am a girl and I can never have too much of anything”. Anyways let’s get started:

Wet N’ Wild Eye Shadows- I recently purchased these two trios of shadows @ Wal-Mart for $2.99 after hearing much rave about how great the new shadows are. Honestly, I am impressed but do wish there were more matte options these are quite shimmery shades. But the pigmentation is amazing and you cannot beat the price. Definitely going back to get more soon….

Organix Moroccan Argon Oil Conditioner- after hearing a lot recently about this product by the beauty gurus I had to go pick this baby up @ Target $6.49. When I used this product from day one my hair felt amazingly soft. The only problem I have is that the consistency of the conditioner is a bit runny for my liking so I often squirt a little bit of Aussie’s 3-Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner in with it to make it thicker. The smell is to die for…

ELF Cream Liner in Black- I rediscovered this in my collection this month. I have 2 other colors of ELF’s gel liners (olive and a purple one) These gel liners work perfectly with an eye liner pencil to make a smudge and summer proof eyeliner. I am honestly impressed with the pigmentation of these gel liners watch out MAC’s Black Track.

Maybelline Superstay Foundation- After hearing about this from TheBombShellSuite from youtube who has oily acne prone skin just like me I had to go and try out this baby. I purchased it @ Wal-Mart around $7. I love mixing it with my Revlon ColorStay foundation. I do not love this by itself doesn’t last as long as it claims (24hr) but mixed it lasts all workday and more if I touch up with powder. I would recommend this if you have oil skin and acne prone. I did not get broken out from this and I did not find myself getting any oilier than usual.

Laura Geller Blush in Blush-n-Brighten- I received this in my June birchbox and honestly at first I was like ugh the whole thing is shimmery. I didn’t love it. I am not about shimmer or glitter on my face I love it on my eyes and lips but not my face. I barely ever wear a highlight. After trying it out a few times and warming up the idea of shimmery cheeks I actually really enjoy the color and glow I get. I love the highlight it comes with to swipe over my nose and above my eye brows for a little extra glisten. I don’t know if I would regularly purchase this but because it was basically free I will enjoy it for the time being.

A few non-beauty related things I would like to mention.

My tattoo that I got earlier this month

Pandora Radio

Townhouse Original Crackers

Ipod Touch

Dairy Queen-Dilly Bars in Chocolate Mint!

Alright Ladies that is all I have for my July Favorites. Hopefully this helps you ladies out and maybe gives some ideas. Any questions leave in the comments before and let me know what some of your favorites are. Have a Great August! Enjoy =)

Summerify Your Makeup Routine

Hey Ladies! I am back with another post this time on my tips to make your makeup stay longer in the summer. I live in Wisconsin and we get gawd awful humidity in the summer. I am jealous of all you non-humid ladies out there. Here is a list of things I do to keep my makeup staying in place during the summer heat:

I always prime my face no matter what time of year it is. This step is critical in keeping your makeup in place all day. Using a primer really helps create a base for all of your makeup artistry that is yet to come.

I like to use MAC Fix+ (you can use another other type of makeup medium) after I apply primer but before I apply a powder or liquid foundation to really help my makeup blend well into my skin. I do think this step helps adhere my makeup to my face better.

I have oily skin so I always apply a powder after any liquid product I use on my face weather on my cheeks, eyes, or face. This helps the product last longer and also absorbs any oil you may have going on throughout the day.

OMG! Emilie Clark from youtube taught me this trick. Dipping your favorite eyeliner pencil into coordinating colored gel liners then applying to your water line was the best idea ever! Seriously the product applies so smoothly and stays in place all day... and the application has never been easier.

If I am wearing a lot of eyeliner especially black and I want the liner to stay in place all day and not budge an inch in that heat. I first dip my eyeliner penicl into a gel liner then apply to my water and tight line then I also use a small angled brush to apply a small amount of matte shadow over the liner. This helps the liner stay in place all day and keeps the liner from smudging into your lashes. Best thing ever... next to sliced bread =) (I had too)

Finally, the step you can never forget but I often do is to apply a makeup setting spray. As I mention below I like Kat Von D's Lock N' Load Makeup Mist. I used to use my Fix+ as a makeup setting spray but honestly that isn't really what I like it best for, blending is. I am not totally in love with KVD, so if anyone has suggestions on a setting spray let me know. I am on the look out for a new one.

Here is list of the tips and my favorite products:

  • Always prime your face- my favorite- Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer $6 @ Wal-Mart

  • Fix your makeup- my favorite- MAC Fix+ maccosmetics.com 1oz $10 3.4oz $19

  • Set with powder- my favorites MAC MSF in Medium maccosmetics.com $27 or ELF Setting powder $6 target or eyeslipsface.com

  • Apply Eyeshadow Primer- my favorite- ELF mineral eyelid primer $3 Target or eyeslipsface.com

  • Dip eyeliner pencil into gel liner- my favorite-ELF gel liners $3 Target or eyeslipsface.com

  • Set eyeliner with matte shadows- depends on the color, but MATTE shadows work best

  • Finish with setting spray- my favorite- KVD Lock N' Load Makeup Mist $24 Sephora

If you don't need to wear a liquid foundation I would recommend not wearing one. They are harder to wear all day in the summers heat. Try to reach for a medium-full coverage powder instead. My favorites are MAC Studio Fix Powder and Clinque Pressed Powder. Wearing powder foundation helps to absorb the oils your face produces and liquid will just melt off. I promise it is okay to let your face breathe once and awhile. Hopefully some of these tricks will help you ladies out in the summer humidity. Enjoy =)

Review: Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship

Hello Ladies!!! I am back in action after I survived a weekend of Rocking out @ Rockfest 2011. Being there made me think of a lot of blog posts for the future, just wait and find out! Anyways, after much raving from blogging and youtube gurus I finally broke down a tried the herbal esscenses long term relationship shampoo and conditioner. WHEW what a name! Here we go...

Where can I get this product?
I purchased mine at my local ShopKo store; although it is available at most drugstores like Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart, and most groceries stores. Atleast where I live anyways.

How much?
I purchased the shampoo and conditioner for around $3. I got the smaller bottles, they do come in two sizes small and large (not sure on the ounces though, sorry)

How did I use this product?
Sorry girls but I shampoo my hair daily, tisk tisk, I know but I DONT CARE. I like to feel clean and my hair likes to get greasy on me. I tried using the shampoo and conditioner together and mixed matched with others hanging out in my shower like Head and Shoulders or Big Sexy Hair. I like to take a whole pile of shampoo and lather it up nice on my head mostly towards my roots but I do shampoo the ends too. I love love love conditioner and I double pile that on. I usually get a pretty good layer all over my head.

What I do I think of this product?
Overall I honestly was not impressed with this shampoo and conditioner combo. Although the smell is absolutely amazing I wasn't really impressed with the conditioning abilities. I figured hey, this is for long hair so I think personally it should be amazingly moisturizing. WRONG. This obviously has more moisturizing power then lets say Suave conditioner but it isn't as amazing some others I have tried from the drugstore that I love like Head & Shoulders Smooth and Silky conditioner. I did however enjoy the shampoo a little bit more, it does lather up nicely that isn't the best for your hair but I like it so I do it. = ) I honestly wasn't that impressed with either of these that I did tell my brother to use them up for me... great guy huh?

Will I repurchase this product?
I honestly do not think that I will repurchase this again. I either missed what everyone was raving about or I am just too picky/crazy. You tell me... maybe not.

Well hopefully that was helpful! More blogs to come!
Enjoy =)

Packing Rant

Hey ladies!! So as I am gearing up for Rockfest 2011 I have come across many things trying to remember everything. I dont know about you guys but I ALWAYS make a list a few days before my trip. I like to catagorize it Clothes, Toiletries, Other. I like to stay organized and not forget anything.
Most of you are girls and probably over packers, just like me. I am going to be gone for 5 nights 4 days. Well you never know what the weather is going to be like or what outfit you might want to wear. Oh, did I mention that it is supposed to be over 90 degress and a great chance of thunderstorms? Boo... So I sit here staring at my list which has the bare minimum of clothing I need to bring and saying honestly I cannot just bring 4 pairs of shorts and here is my list of rants about packing:

  • Being a girl sucks! Do I really need to bring mulitple brushes for makeup and different colors of eyeshadow? Is anyone even going to notice or care?

  • Finding travel sized goodie is NOT that easy and trying to figure out a way to mkae your giant shampoo some how tiny is impossible. I figured out that I need to go to the craft store and buy some conveinent containers pronto

  • Why do I need to pack 10 shirts? 10 tank tops? and 5 swimsuits?

  • Do I really need to bring multiple flip-flops?

  • Why isn't my bag ever big enough?

  • Is there a point to even making a list when I pack everything on it and more?

  • Downsizing my clothing to make all my beauty goodies fit is going to have to stop sometime and hopefully soon.

Ugh, I just feel so much better. Sometimes I wish I was that girl who could wear a pair of soffee shorts and a cut up t-shirt and maybe have never touched makeup in the first place. Do you ever feel like that? Maybe I am the only one. Oh the joys of being me =) Well off to la la land of packing for a little while longer. Rockfest in 12 hours. Hopefully I am not alone on this one...

Enjoy =)

My Tattoo In Depth

Hello ladies!! I wanted to write a post all about my tattoo experience recently. Now I am sure a lot of people are wondering why would you put a tree on your back? Well the answer is that I have been watercolor painting for many years and I always loved painting Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees. So I talked with my Tattoo Artist Jeff and gave him some ideas and let him create this gorgeous creation.

I picked the placement because I have a very little body I am only five feet two inches tall and I wanted the tree to be fairly large so I was limited on where I could put the tattoo. I also wanted to make sure I placed it some where that weight gain would be minimal if I did gain any weight.
Now I honestly just let my artist Jeff run with the coloring and shading. I just asked for pink flowers and a white center. I really love how the yellow in the tree itself made it pop.

I went with a local tattoo shop. I don't want to put the name of it because it is the exact town I live in, but I did go there with a friend before and she got a tattoo. I loved the friendly environment and I totally loved how Jeff showed us how everything was sterile and he doesn't reuse anything which is very important. I think another reason why I loved this shop so much is that Jeff the tattoo artist is actually only 23 years old which is my age. I know he is young and how could he be able to do such amazing work well honestly, he is gifted and it comes natural.

I did not think that actually getting the tattoo hurt. If you own an epilator I think that is exactly what it feels like. Now I would never get a tattoo over my ribs. I have one branch that just reaches a little bit over towards my ribs and that really hurts. The only part that I really thought that hurt was after he had done the outline and started to shade it in he left the yellow
for the second to last color and that is what hurt because you were going over skin that already was irritated. Otherwise Ladies don't be scarred. My friend who got the tattoo on her foot said her tattoo really hurt but that is on little skin and over a lot of bone.

I am really please with the result of my tattoo. The key part now is that I need to take care of my tattoo otherwise I could do some serious damage. I am going to Rockfest on Thursday so in 3 days. You are not supposed to be in tanning bed for 2 weeks and limit the direct contact by sunlight for a few days. Rockfest is going to be like 95 degrees and the concerts are all outside. I have purchased plenty of sunscreen and I am ready to protect my new baby. Also, right after you get your tattoo you need to keep it covered with an ointment like Aquaphor and after it starts to scab you can apply a dye and fragrance free lotion to keep the skin soft. A lot of people say that the tattoo starts to itch and it is really hard not to itch it but I am not to that point yet. I just have scabs but if you do end up picking at these the color will come out and you will lost parts of your tattoo!

Hopefully this was helpful leave any questions below if you have any. Happy Tattooing! Enjoy =)

Empties

Hey Ladies! It feels really good to be back. I have been working really hard to empty out a lot of my products and honestly it is harder than it sounds. I know that I had thrown away a lot of containers not even thinking Oh, I can put that on my blog.... yeah oops. I guess that is what happens when you don't blog for a month, sorry ladies. Here is a look at the recent things I emptied. I did take the picture from my iPhone so the quality isn't the greatest and yes that is me in the mirror looking fabulous =) haha

What I used up

Victoria Secret Body Butter in Love Spell
Physicians Formula Bronzer
Ulta Smooth Conditioner
Olay Quench Taste of Sun Gradual Self Tanner
Bath & Body Works Lemon Vanilla Lotion
Pangea Organics Toner For Normal to Combination Skin

Victoria Secret Body Butter In Love Spell- I found this little bugger hiding in the back of one of my bathroom drawers and honestly I forgot how much I love this stuff and how soft it really makes your skin feel. I will be repurchasing this.

Physicians Formula Bronzer- Now I have had this for a long while. This was one of the mosaic bronzer that came out well probably last year. I got it on clearance at Target. I do not think I will repurchase this. I like NYC Sunny bronzer a lot better or the Blush/Bronzer combo by e.l.f.

Ulta Smooth Conditioner- I was on the hunt for a new conditioner and happened to see this on the ulta website and it was buy one get one free so why not try it out right? Well honestly this stuff sucks. First off I hate the smell. This reminds me of Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar which I cannot stand because my friends and I used to load that shit on when we were in junior high. Yuck, and the formula is really thick but my hair doesn't really feel that great after using it. I had high hopes for this for some reason. Will not repurchase.

Quench Taste of Sun Gradual Self-Tanner- This is my holy grail for gradual self tanners. I never see anyone else raving about this product but hey, I love it. As soon as I finished this body I had another one waiting. I just honestly love this it gives off a great gradual tan without ever looking orange and the smell is amazing. Will ALWAYS repurchase.

Bath & Body Works Lemon Vanilla Lotion- So I got this at a Semi-Annual sale sometime last year I think. I love love love this lotion. Honestly is the perfect summer scent with a little hint of vanilla but mostly lemon. Reminds me of lemon cake. I purchased like 4 of these at the sale and this is the first one I have used up! On to the next one I guess.

Pangea Organic Toner for Normal to Combination Skin- I got this in my June birchbox and I have been using it ever since. I haven't thought to use a toner like a spray before and I honestly like how it works. I applied this everyday after I showered and before my moisturizer. The smell is definitely natural but I love it. I don't really know if this did anything wonderful for my skin but I do love it, not sure if I am going to repurchase or not.

Alright ladies, I am back!!! Stay tuned for more.
Enjoy =)

Tattoo

You have probably been wondering where I have been? Well I have been busy with a lot of things mostly working and helping out a friend. I also just got a giant tattoo
