Haul: Sinful Color Polish

Hello Ladies! So I had shared my love for Sinful Color Nail Polishes before and you all know they were on sale this week at Walgreens (I shared that with you guys here). So I spent my week planning when I would be able to run to Walgreens and grab my limit of 3 polishes. I don't think I have ever frequented that store that many times before; at least in a week before. I even made my coworkers stop at Walgreens on our work conference this week. Shame Shame.... beauty addictions. Anyways, these are the beautiful colors I picked out...

Nail Junkie, Mint Apple, Innocent, Rise and Shine, and Call you later

Nail Junkie is a beautiful collection of blue sparkles and a blue base color. Mint Apple is one of my favorite polishes from Sinful Colors this is my 2nd bottle since last year. Innocent just caught my eye as a green summer green. Rise and Shine is more of a teal color than pictured but would look amazing on your nails. Call you later is a green base with lots of green sparkles. I don't own a lot of glittery polishes but I had to buy them for 99 cents, how can you not branch out?

Daddy's Girl, Fig, Forget Now, Boogie Nights, and You Just Wait

Daddy's Girl is a dark purple with some shimmer. Fig is a pretty standard purple that does some shimmer as well. Forget now is a typical darker pink ( I think I have like 3 or 4 of these colors, OOPS) Boogie Nights is a lighter pink with shimmer. And You Just Wait is a light light pink with iridescent qualities. I think this will look great over any color polish to add a little bit more color, especially a matte color.

Well ladies, did any of you go crazy and buy a whole bunch of polish like me? Hopefully I am not alone. The sale ends today (Saturday) but was totally worth it if you went and picked some up. JUST REALIZED THAT I FORGET TO ADD ONE. I also got a plain silver glitter called Queen of Beauty. Sorry for the lack of picture! Enjoy =)

NOTD: Lacey Lilac and Dove

Hello ladies! So I painted my nails twice this week and I happened to purchase a bunch of nail polish from Walgreens.(none that I use in the post...go figure) I have a blog post about that here. Anyways, these are the colors I chose to rock this week...

This is a gorgeous spring purple! It is from Sally Hansen in the color Lacey Lilac. I purchased this from Wal-Mart for $2 probably a month ago. They also have an amazing summer green that I need to buy, since I ordered a similar one from Forever 21 and it sucks. I put on 2 coats and I did add some silver glitter at the tips, kinda hard to notice in the picture but I still lost my camera :/

This polish was from my April birchbox (post here), it is buy the brand name Zoya in the color Dove. This picture isn't the best and the color actually turns a light dusty grey. I absolutely love the color. I have gotten many comments on the color actually. I was rather impressed with the staying and non-chipping power of this little baby. My birchbox card told me that this retails for $8. I honestly probably would never spend that much on a nail polish BUT I do know that this brand is worth it's while.

I am going out of town on a work conference this Friday and Saturday. I am hoping tomorrow or sometime this weekend to put up a post of the nail polishes I picked up from the Sinful Colors Sale this week. It is still going on until Saturday I believe so go and check it out! I have once again chose my blog over my Marketing homework, oh the life of a full-time worker/ college student. Puke...

Enjoy =)

Vitamins & Eating Healthy

Hello Ladies! So I always hear people talking about how eating healthy and taking vitamins is so GREAT for your skin, hair, and nails. Well lets state the obvious eating veggies, fruit, and drinking lots-o-wata is always been taught to us. This is obviously something that is going to be good for your body. BUT I don't always follow the rules, heck, let me be totally honest. I don't drink milk (hardly ever), since I started this job at the clinic I drink more water than what I used to but still not nearly enough, I hate veggies and most fruit. I live on carbs and fast food. All I drink is Pepsi and Coffee; sometimes the occasional glass of water.

What I want to know is this, does eating right and taking vitamins really do that much for your hair and skin? My junk food diet hasn't really changed my hair or skin. I have always had pretty strong hair that doens't get damaged easily and my skin yeah I have had the occasional pimple and teen acne but seriously who hasnt? I really think it depends on everyones body and how it reacts to what you eat. Hey, maybe I am crazy but I don't see anything wrong with eating junk and not drinking milk.

I used to buy into that craze of taking prenatal vitamins for better healthier stronger hair and nails. Well you know what after popping those things like crazy back in high school I really did not see any improvement, well for that matter I didn't notice anything. My doctor would probably love that I was taking this vitamin. I personally think it was a waste of money but we all try it right!

Let me know what you guys think of taking vitamins and eating healthy to get better skin, hair, nails whatever... Enjoy =)

Daily Dimes + Shampooing

Hello Ladies! I am sitting here watching Americas Most Wanted (nothing better to do on a Saturday Night) and I just finished eating Lil Caesers Pizza and Bread sticks and I need to confess that I am obsessed with their bread sticks and Cheddar JalapeƱo dipping sauce. I was never a big fan of tomato sauce that most people dip into. Anyways, today I received some goodies in the mail to try out from Covergirl. So I need to test that stuff out and hopefully will be posting a review soon. I was going to do a review post but I don't know where my camera is at the moment.

So I finally gave into the whole hype about not shampooing your hair as much. Ever since I started watching youtube gurus and reading blogs it seems like everyone only washes their hair like 2 times a week. I am sorry but I love my freshly shampooed hair everyday. I have been trying really hard to keep the shampooing to a minimum. My favorite shampoo from the drugstore is Head and Shoulders Silky Smooth. I have been using Head and Shoulders for as long as I can remember. I don't have a problem with dandruff or a dry scalp I just love how moisturizing this stuff really is. I use the conditioner as well. Anyways, I am still showering daily and conditioning but I have tried to skip shampooing every other day; which really seems like a waste because I still blow dry and use heat tools everyday. Oh well, maybe it will save my hair a little damage. Have you ever tried to do this? I honestly don't think it will really last that long...

Here are my daily dimes
  • Crystal Lite Lemonade
  • Lil Caesers Goodness, of course
  • Pure Seduction Body Lotion from VS
  • Warm Weather is coming!!!!! (I live in Wisconsin and it is always either raining, snowing, cloudy)
  • These people on Americas Most Wanted are super scary
  • I have been obsessed with teasing my hair lately! Props to my Sally's teasing comb
  • Mandarin Candle from Shopko (I wore the label off)
Well that is all for now! Enjoy =)

Review: Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion

Hello Ladies, I needed to write this blog right away after using this product. I received this facial lotion as part of my April Birchbox. I am always exciting and willing to try new products....who doesn't love something new, right? Honestly, this is terrible and I just put this on like 15 minutes ago. I am already in disgust.
  1. Smells like old lady perfume and urinal cakes.... not lying... grossed out
  2. My face feels greasy and thick
  3. I now have a headache from the smell... very over powering
  4. I need to rewash my face again

"Weleda, Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion- A silky lotion that adds major hydration without feeling heavy. Organic rosehip oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamis A and E, which work to soften and protect skin. Full Size 1 fl oz - $28" is what my card from my Birchbox says. Sorry but this honestly stinks, and does leave my face feeling heavy and greasy. YUCK.
If anyone else out there got this for April and tried it, please let me know.
Worst facial lotion ever

Enjoy
=)

Daily Dimes

Hello Ladies!! Hopefully you are enjoying your Monday. I just wanted to write a little blog about my life lately. =====> Just a quick webcam picture of myself. My hair is scrunched and I have a blog post on that here. Check it out if you are interested. Also my new blogger friend Brittany also did a Beauty Sins post. Check her's out!

Makeup wise I have been wearing a lot less foundation and a lot more concealer and MSF. I have recently started using Clinque's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and I have seen a little improvement in my skin but nothing that the you-tuber's rave about quite yet. We will have to wait and see. Watch out for that review soon.

I wanted to let everyone know that I made a list of blog ideas that I want to write up next so hopefully I will add more ideas and cross some off the list real soon. I am going to be working less hours at the Clinic so I will have more time to blog. Exciting for all of us.

So I was hanging out with a guy recently and I had my hair scrunched with my natural beautiful waves out for the world to see and he goes "what is wrong with you hair? It looks all nappy and untamed" Seriously, ladies we need to quit all of this getting ready in the morning. It is like guys think we naturally have straight silky hair when we get out of the shower! Anyone else have this problem with their men? They have no appreciation for the time and effort we put into ourselves to make ourselves look that way. Ugh, man....

Things I am obsessed with lately
  • Oral B Advantage Plus Scope Floss Picks
  • Crest 3d White Toothpaste
  • Strawberry Daiquiri Bath & Body Works Lotion ( I don't think they have this anymore)
  • Fit & Active Strawberry Fruit Strips
  • TLC's Show Extreme Couponing
  • My 2 cats Cali and Shadow ===> Our Christmas Card last year!!! Aren't they just adorable, I know not everyone loves cats but I certainly love 'em. (and yes Shadow is really wearing a Santa outfit, I got it at Target for $2.50 I couldn't resist. It is actually for dogs but hey, it works right?
Well ladies have a great day!
Enjoy=)

How To: Scrunch Hair

Hello Ladies... I figured that I have not posted a blog in a little while (my bad). I was busy watching a coworkers 3 toddlers for 3 days and had a fabulous time! Anyways this morning while I was getting ready I decided I should take a few quick pictures (not very fabulous pictures, but still none the less pictures) of how I scrunch my hair. I had naturally wavyish hair it is not curly or straight it is right in the middle. The last picture is not that fabulous and does not really show you the best finished product, so sorry. Here we go!!!

First Step: Freshly washed hair that is damp. I put in leave in conditioner and heat protectant

Products: Any Flexible Hold Hairspray, Mousse, Volume Spray ( I just use this because this old one from Bath & Body smells amazing, not really needed to create the look) Also, blow dryer to create volume and hold look all day.

Put a golf ball sized amount of mousse into hair and scrunch. I usually repeat this step like 3 times depends on how much hair you have and amount of mousse you want to use.

I now spray hairspray and my volumizing spray and scrunch my hair a little bit more...

Finally turn my head over and blow dry my hair. While blow drying I do scrunch my hair. Blow dry until your hair is completely dry. Flip your head over and create a part, doing some teasing, or create a braid with your bangs like I did.

Hopefully you liked this little hair post! Let me know if you have any questions! Happy Scrunching.
Enjoy =)

Beauty Sins

Hey Ladies! I was in the shower this morning thinking about how many beauty rules I break on a daily basis. So I figured what the hell I better share these things I break and see if anyone else also breaks any beauty rules... here I go confessing my beauty sins
  1. Shampoo my hair daily
  2. Cut my cuticles regularly
  3. Not always use a heat protectant because I get lazy
  4. Tease my hair regularly
  5. Dye my hair out of a box with permanent color
  6. Not cutting my hair regularly (what can I say I want long hair!!)
  7. Not washing my makeup brushes frequently
  8. Being lazy and NOT always washing my makeup off before bed
  9. Popping Pimples
  10. Not flossing regularly
  11. Brushing my hair when it is wet
  12. Not throwing away old makeup
  13. Licking my makeup brushes to create a perfect flat eyeliner brush (brush lickers unite =)...)
Okay that is all I am willing to confess at this point... Maybe I will think of more later.
Enjoy =) Please tell me your beauty sins

Hey Ladies!!! Well I went to work at 8 this morning and when I got there I realized that I didn't have to be there until 1130... so now I am at home in bed watching the news and writing this blog. I figured I would just put a random blog with some of my favorite tunes as of now...
I love music. Music can change your whole day for the better or worst. I jam to music pretty much all day. Maybe you will dig some of my favorite tunes

  • Rocketeer By Far East Movement
  • Look At Me Now By Chris Brown Ft. Busta Rhymes
  • Electric Feel By MGMT
  • Rolling In The Deep By Adele
  • So Beautiful By Musiq Soulchild

Tell me if you dig dig these songs! This week is my last week working on Flu Research so exciting. All my Coworkers and I are so sick of doing these studies. Pink Paradise

Hey Ladies!!! Here is a pinkish/purple look I wore to work the other day. I used an LA Colors Palette (no name) but it has pink and purple shimmery shades. I used a lighter pink for the lid and then added a deeper purple into the corner. I did not go crazy with a crease color. Used the lightest white color for the brow bone.

I finished with Loreal Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner and a few coats of Loreal Voluminious Mascara. I am wearing Revlon ColorStay on face with Elf Blush in Berry Merry. I used MSF in medium all over. and NYC Sunny Bronzer for a contour!
Hope you enjoy! =]
