Brush Storage For Cheap

Hey loves! I am always looking for new ways to organize my makeup and brushes. I was at Target this weekend and I saw these containers in the lawn & garden area on clearance for $1.48 a piece! What a steal! They are available in white or black. I picked up 4 containers. I used to use a desk organizer for my brushes but this works so much better! The containers are made a metal and are rather sturdy. Take a look...

How cute right?! I totally love these containers because they were cheap and look fabulous. What do you keep your brushes in? I also put some of my most used eyeliners and lip liners in the extra container.  I love using cups or desk containers like these because you can easily wash them and are long lasting.

Summer No Buy!

Hey Loves! Since I just did an Empties post and have done a few hauls lately I have decided to embark on another No Buy for the rest of the summer. I have a million products I need to use up before I buy more products. Plus who doesn't love saving a little money. I better start deleting those tempting e-mails from Sephora and Ulta. I did a No Buy in January of this yea and I like to follow a few simple rules:

-Use up all extra products before repurchasing
-Only allowed to purchase products if I have no other backups left of the certain product and are necessary (shampoo, toothpaste...)
-Focus on products that are already half used and finish them
-Don't avoid products that I don't really care for

I will collect my products for the next month or so and create another Empties post when I am finished using up a few products. I don't like to call this a project 10 pan because I like to include body products as well not just makeup. Who is with me?

Haul: Drugstore Products

Hey loves! I went to Target to pick up a few things recently. If you do not have a Target RedCard you should really think about getting one because on each purchase you save 5%, if you order online you get free shipping, and you get 30 more days for returns.  You also get exclusive coupons and offers.

L'Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum Concentrate
L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Oil Free
Target that L'Oreal products if you purchase 2 skincare items you got a $5 gift card. I had intended to pick up just one of these items but I couldn't pass up to get a deal so I got both. I have used the Youth Code Serum before and am looking forward to having this back in my skincare routine. This is my first time picking up the miracle blur.
Toni&Guy Prep Heat Protection Mist
I love checking out the clearance sections at Target. You can usually find some thing good that is discounted. I saw this travel sized heat protectant so I decided to try it out. I have not used the product yet but I do like the fresh natural scent.
Caress Tahitian Renewal Exfoliating Body Wash
This is another cult favorite of mine. This is my all time favorite body wash for the summer months. Just smells so sweet and tropical. Who doesn't want a mini vacation in the summer each morning?

Conair Innovation Hot Rollers
I have been wanting to get a set of hot rollers for a while now but I didn't know which ones to get. So I just saw these at Target and purchased them. I really wanted to find a set that had the pins to hold the rollers in place because they seem a little more secure. We will see what I think of these rollers in due time.

Hopefully everyone had a great and safe weekend! Looking forward to another work week. Are there any products you think I should try out? Let me know.

Lets Talk Trash- Empties!

Hey loves! I have not done an empties post since I did my no buy in January of this year. I have been collecting products since then and I have probably thrown a few away but I still have a lot of stuff that I have used up. I am still trying to whittle down my collection a little bit at a time.  These are some of my favorite posts to do and read I feel like you actually see what someone thinks of products if they like them or would they repurchase! I am hoping to make these post more often so they don't end up quite so large!  Lets jump into this massive empties...

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara- Not only is this a holy grail product of mine it is a cult favorite. I obviously am a mascara freak and went through 5 in the past few months. I will repurchase and will always recommend to others.

Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black- This is another product that I continuously repurchase. I like this because it has a felt tip and is not in a pen form. I will repurchase and recommend to anyone who likes a dark blacker line that doesn't flake or smudge.
Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara in 301 Black- I purchased this because I heard amazing things but I do not like it. I thought the formula was a little off and I noticed the mascara flaking. I thought the tube dried up quickly but I did like the brush. I would not repurchase.
Jordana FabuLiner Liquid Eye Liner in 01 Black- Another product I purchased off of recommendations that I ended up not liking. I don't really like pen form liquid liners. I thought the pigmentation was less than good and I noticed the line fading throughout the day. I will not repurchase.
Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown- This used to be my holy grail brow product for years. I have been using Anatasia Dip Brow instead recently. I do want to purchase this for my purse to be used as a touch up product. I would recommend to anyone who wants a pencil/gel from the drugstore to fill in their brows.

L'Oreal Power Volume Collagen in Black- I don't think there was a real reason why I purchased this mascara besides that it is made by L'Oreal which makes my holy grail mascara. I do like the brush because it has bristles not a rubber wand. The formula was dry and mine had a weird smell. I would not repurchase.
CoverGirl Clump Crusher by Lashblast in Very Black-  I purchased this because everyone was raving about how great this mascara was. I should of listened to myself and known I would of hated this because I hate the Lashblast in the orange tube by Covergirl. I hate rubber brushes and I thought the wand was too big for my eye shape. I will not repurchase.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in Neutralizer & Light- I love this concealer! I use this to highlight my under eye area and down the bridge of my nose. I prefer the shade light over the Neutralizer shade. I think it is the drugstore version of MAC's Prolong Wear Concealer. I will continue to repurchase and will continue to recommend to others.
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation + Sunscreen SPF 20 in Buff Beige-  Another holy grail product of mine. If you like full-coverage and long wearing foundation then this is for you. I like that the foundation has an SPF included for the summer months. I do sheer this out with lotion for the summer months. I have a bottle I am currently using but will repurchase after that is gone.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin in 180 Sand Beige- I have used this foundation on and off for years. I always find myself going back to this when I am not loving my other foundations. This gives such good coverage and is available in 2 formulas and wide range of colors. Currently have a bottle but will repurchase and recommend.

Urban Decay de-slick Makeup Setting Spray- This is the first bottle that I have used up of this product. I had always heard a million things about settings sprays but had only tried the MAC Fix+ which isn't as good as this spray is. If you need to wear your makeup for hours and have oily skin then you need to have this in your routine. I am almost done with my current bottle and have recently purchased a back up! Join the setting spray family and grab one!
Sonia Kashuk Primer Perfecting Transparent Mattifying- I am always on the hunt for a good facial primer. My skin is acne prone and super oily. I always have problems keeping foundation or concealer on my nose. This primer did help my foundation stay but I don't love the silicone feel. I might repurchase but I haven't yet.
Urban Decay Primer Potion Original Sample-  I used to use this eye lid primer daily but I feel like I have become used to the formula so my eye shadow doesn't stay as long. I have a few other samples of this product I will use but I have a different eye lid primer I like better. I would recommend to anyone with oily lids or just for long lasting wear. I will not repurchase at this time.

Sephora Instant Moisturizer- This has been my daily moisturizer for years. I like using this in the winter because it doesn't have SPF. I do use this in the summer under a foundation that has an SPF.  This makes my skin feel very soft and non oily. I will repurchase when I make an order from Sephora.
L'Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum Concentrate- Amazing product! After one use my face felt so smooth and silky. I don't know how much this serum perfected my skin in the 1.5 months I used it. I really want to repurchase but haven't felt like shelling out $20 just yet. I would recommend to anyone who needs a good facial serum from the drugstore.
Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial Sample-  I used this morning and night for a good month. I think it has a weird smell--very natural. I didn't think my skin felt greasy after applying. I wasn't wowed by this facial lotion so I won't be repurchasing.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer Sample- This sample comes with a doe foot applicator and I actually prefer squeeze tubes for my eye lid primers. I think the formula was nice and did keep my shadow on all day. I am currently using an eye primer by Lorac that I like more. I won't be repurchasing but if you are in the need for a eye lid primer this is worth a shot.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm with SPF 20 Sample- I don't know if this product comes in different shades or which shade I have. I don't like the minty smell or feel this product has. My face was extremely oily after wearing this product for a few hours. I felt like the coverage was almost nonexistent.  I will not repurchase.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium- This is another holy grail product. I love setting my foundation with this finely milled foundation powder. If you like that matte perfected look then this is for you. I never get a cakey look. I will continue to repurchase and recommend. I am always on the look for a good drugstore powder but I never have any luck.
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in Radiant- I love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer better than this. I used this as a highlighter type concealer but I wasn't over impressed with the coverage or lasting power. This would cake under my eyes even when I set with a powder. I did like this product to clean up my eye brows. I won't repurchase at this time.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Hint of Colour in Dark & Deep Brown and Medium & Brunette- I used to think I couldn't go 2 days without washing my hair but this product saved my life! I have dark hair and always felt like dry shampoo left a white cast on my roots. This has a slight brown color that blends in easy and the smell is amazing. This is available in red and blonde shades as well as a regular white formula with different scents. If you are looking for a good dry shampoo then check this out. I get mine at TJ Maxx for $5.99 which is cheaper than Walgreens or Ulta.

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Burnt Brown Sugar & Karite Butter Exfoliating Body Wash- I think this has been in almost every one of my empties posts. I can't myself to switch body washes. This has that amazing deep sweet yummy scent and also is exfoliating. I would recommend Caress body washes to anyone- your skin doesn't feel overly dry or tight after using.
Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Breeze Shower Gel- I believe I purchased this at the Semi Annual sale last year and I finally finished it. I don't love Bath & Body Works body products. I do like how the scent from the body wash lasts after the shower but I think they are drying. I would not repurchase. The smell was nice and tropical.
Old Spice Wolfthorn Anti-Antiperspirant & Deodorant- I have always worn deodorant for guys because the smells are so fresh and clean. I do not love the flowery sweet scents personally for deodorant. I love the scent and the formula. I switch brands each time I buy a new one so I will probably repurchase in a few months.

Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo in Damage Rescue- Another holy  grail product that continues to show up in empties post. I use a lot of dry shampoo and I feel like that can dry my scalp out. I love this scent-- smells like peaches. Very moisturizing and the scent lasts all day. Will continue to repurchase.
Head & Shoulders Dandruff Conditioner in Smooth & Silky- When I feel like my hair needs a pick me up I use this conditioner. Never fails to leave my hair super soft and smelling good for days. I will continue to repurchase.
Mystic Divine Argan & Monoi Oils Nourishing Masque- If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply near you I would recommend if you pick up this hair masque. This left my hair feeling amazingly soft and no tangles. I am always on the hunt for a good drugstore deep conditioner and I think ladies this is for me! I am going to go pick up another tub and the smell is amazing!
Bain de Terre Keratin Phyto-Protein Strengthening Conditioner- I used to purchase this from TJ Maxx all the time but recently I went and they were all sold out so I tried another product. If I see them again there I will repurchase. This conditioner is light weight and does amazing things for your hair.

Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead Cleanser-This is a warming cleanser that is exfoliating. I wasn't overly wowed by this product. I wish the warming sensation lasted longer and the beads were more abundant. I don't think I will repurchase at this time.
Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser Sample- This came with my Clarisonic brush that I got from Christmas in December. I actually loved this face wash. I didn't think it was overly drying nor was the scent over powering. I will consider repurchasing if I have a coupon.
St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub- I use this product for my face and my body. I love how exfoliating this is. I only use once a week on my face and on my body before I add self-tanner or shave. I will continue to repurchase.
Garnier Clean + Shine Control Cleansing Gel for Oily Skin- I picked this up because I as hearing all this buzz about Charcoal being good for oily skin. I actually liked the foaming action this cleanser provided but I felt like my skin was very dry after washing. I don't know if this controlled my oily but definitely kept the oil under control a little longer. I have a few other face washes I want to finish before repurchasing another.

Equate Beauty Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Towelettes- I love these for taking my makeup off before and after I wash my face. I love taking these camping or on vacation. I will continue to repurchase.
Ulta Exfoliating Round Cotton Pads- I liked that these had an exfoliating side but I don't need to have that to apply toner. I have purchase some plain cotton rounds from Wal-Mart. If I am at Ulta I might pick these up again.

Clinque Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser Sample- I got this in a sample kit. I liked how these removed all my makeup but I did not love the squeaky clean feeling this left on my skin. I would not repurchase but if you like that overly clean feel this would be a cleanser for you.
Ms. Pedicure Exfoliating Foot Scrub with Pumice & Mint- I had a stock pile of this product and this is finally the last one. I love this stuff to exfoliating my feet and legs. This was super exfoliating and the mint smell was amazing but not over powering. If I see this around I will repurchase.
Bain de Terre Argon Oil Sleek & Smooth Shampoo- As I said earlier I love this conditioner it leaves my hair super soft and healthy. I find these at TJ Maxx but my most recent trip they were all sold out. If I see them again there I will purchase.

And we are done! Another successful empties post! I love doing these and reading them as I said. What are some of your product you continuously use up?

Hair Product Rave- Must Have!

Hey loves! If you are like me and love big hair then you need this product in your life! L'Oreal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray I picked this up after watching LeighAnnSays on Youtube do a review on this product and she is all about that big Texas hair. I found mine at Walgreens for $6.99 for 5.3 ounces of product. I am not a huge drugstore hair product person- I do have a few favorite shampoo and conditioners but when it comes to hair products I usually stick to salon products. Lets jump into the review:

I  like to add this into the roots of my hair before I tease with my plastic teasing comb. I do not like to use the teasing combs that have bristles but I like the plastic combs with off set plastic teeth in three rows-I get mine at Sally's Beauty Supply. I like to section my hair from front to back on the top of my head. I add a little spray and tease.
This product helps the tease last all day and adds texture to the roots if you don't want to tease. I used to think that dry shampoo was amazing for teasing but this is so much better. I use this on first and second day hair.
The smell is amazing and does not leave your hair overly stiff. If you apply too much product I do find that the hair can feel crunchy but I do not notice any flakes or powder look on the hair. My mom actually commented on my hair that it looked less ratted and more voluminous than normal when I was trying this product out.
If you have tried the powders for volume at the roots then you know that tacky feeling that they can give off. I get that from this product but for a shorter time. I find on my dark hair that those powders are harder to blend into my roots than this spray is. I think this spray gives more volume that last longer.

Pros:
-Affordable
-Great Scent
-Hold Tease
-Non-flaky or powdery

Cons:
-Can become crunchy with too much product

Overall I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to add a little volume or keep their tease lasting all day. I am surprised that I haven't found this in a high end product yet. Do you have a favorite hair product for big Texas hair?

Haul: Ulta, Urban Decay, & Drugstore

Hey Loves! Since my birthday month was in May I got some exclusive offers from Ulta & Urban Decay so I ordered a few things- that is how they always get you. I did get a coupon for Sephora as well but I didn't need anything from there nor could I think of anything I wanted to buy. What a shame.  I did pick up a few things from the drugstore as well. Here is what I got the past month of May...

Lorac Pro Palette
Behind the Scenes Eye Primer by Lorac
From Ulta I picked up the Lorac Pro Palette which I have had my eye on for months now. If you are a Beauty Insider with Ulta then you get a $10 off coupon for your birthday month so I used that combined with $12.00 in points so I ended up paying only $20 for the palette which is such a deal! I have played around with the shadows and I am in love! Also comes with a sample size the the Lorac Eye primer which I also like so far.
Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oil Micro-Oil Shampoo Sample
it Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream Sample in Medium
Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel Sample
If you are familiar with Ulta then you know that with each purchase you get to pick 3 samples- I just always select the Variety Pack so I get a mixture of products. I love getting samples because I feel like you get to try out products a little bit so you can decide if you would buy a travel size or maybe even a big size. I have used the shampoo before and I did enjoy. I am looking forward to the CC foundation.

L'Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara
Equate Sport Suncreen SPF 70
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara in Waterproof Carbon Black
I just did a review on the Miss Manga Mascara-First Impression. I am an avid believe in sunscreen and think everyone should wear this when you are going to be outside. I know I do not want skin cancer or premature wrinkles if I have prevent them. Do not forget your face! I also picked up my favorite mascara in the water proof formula for the summer weather and beach days. These products are from Wal-Mart.

L'Oreal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray
I picked up this product from Walgreen's recently. I am not going to expose too much about what I think about this spray but I will have a review up soon so stay tuned! Look out for that!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
Urban Decay de-slick Makeup Setting Spray
I have ordered my Naked Palettes off Urban Decay.com and I am glad I did. For my birthday they sent me a coupon to get a free full-size eye liner which is such a steal!! I was in need of a new setting spray so I used the offer to get my favorite black liner in Zero. The setting spray is a must have and I will never go without again-made such a long lasting difference in my makeup.

So who has a birthday coming up? Watch for deals that are better than just a free shot or dessert for your birthday. Have you tried any of these products?

First Impression: Miss Manga Mascara

Hey Loves! I am doing a first impression on the new L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara. I have been seeing a lot of reviews of this mascara which have been mixed. I was excited to do this first impression because I am huge fan of L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara which as been a cult favorite of mine for years. I picked up this mascara at Wal-Mart for $7.98. Lets jump into the first impression:

You need to know that my lashes are abundant and long. I do not curl my lashes because when I apply mascara they already face upward.

What this mascara claims?
360 degree Flexor Brush: For the first time, L'Oreal Paris creates a flexible brush with a unique conical shape to catch those hard to reach lashes, for incredible even application.
Mega Impact Formula: Instantly builds oversized volume! For up to 15x lash volume in a flash.
The Manga Look: Top lashes amplified and bottom lashes maximized for an ultimate wide eye-look.
-Clump-Free, Flake-Free, Smudge-Free
-Ophthalmologist and Allergy Tested
-Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
-Tested under dermatological control

Here is the application:
No Mascara
One coat- Left Eye
Two Coats- Left Eye
Two Coats- Both Eyes

Miss Manga Mascara
What do I think?

Right away I did like how uplifted my eye lashes look but I don't like how spidery they look. I like my lashes to appear a little more thick at the base. I think this gives a light application of mascara.
The brush is not for me- I do like that the brush is not rubber but is made of bristles and the shape is also decent the wedge isn't overly dramatic. What I don't like is the flexible wand-I feel like I can't get in to the base of my lashes to wiggle the brush back and forth. I feel like I don't have a lot of control when applying the mascara.
The formula reminds me a lot of the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black. I think the formula is a little wet but if you let the mascara sit for a week or two the formula with thicken and the lashes will look thicker after application.
Definitely long lasting-I wore this mascara for over 8 hours and in humid weather. I did not see any smudging, flaking, or notice any clumps. I did not get transfer off my bottom lashes to my under eye area.

Pros:
-No Smudges, Flakes, Clumps
-Availability
-Highly Pigmented
-Long Lasting
-Affordable
-Bristle Brush

Cons:
-Wet Formula
-Flexible Wand
-Lack of Control

Overall I think I will stick with my L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara because I like that brush better and feel I can get into my lashes easier/quicker. If you like spidery lashes and a light application I would suggest you try this mascara. What is your favorite mascara?
